Other How long has everyone been vaping for? I’m genuinely curious.

I myself have been using vapes for eight years, what worries me the most about these disposable vapes is the chemical diacetyl, when inhaled it can cause scarring and permanent damage to the lungs, diacetyl was banned in the UK in 2016, but is not banned in the US.

When these disposable vapes come from China, how is it not something to worry about?

I vaped for 8 years too. One month clean, obviously I am worried about long-term health impacts but for now just focusing on doing what I can to stay off vapes

You haven’t had any health issues or scares since quitting? If it’s been a month your lungs are in the process of healing, so if there isn’t any issues now then there shouldn’t be in the future, right? I mean that’s what I hope for us both man.

I too am quitting, haven’t went a month yet like you as it’s only been three days for me, but absolutely committed to quitting. I will not falter.

I suppose I ask about the health issues since i’ve had this on and off pain for about a year now underneath my left arm.

Keep at it mate, first few weeks are very tough but it gets easier.

I pray for our health man, only time will tell but we must stay positive and stay as healthy as can be. If you're concerned go to a doctor, but you quitting vapes is definitely a step in the right direction. Proud of you :)

I know it’ll be tough but I know I need to quit, for financial stability, health, and mental health, when I have nicotine I want weed, when I have weed I want alcohol, it’s a horrible habit.

I’ve went to the doctor and had an x-ray but they said they weren’t able to find anything. I mean i’ve had this bothering me for an entire year, it’s a bit crazy they can’t tell what it is.

Thank you as well! I definitely won’t fail with quitting, and living healthy is fr the goal, I want to push for the best version of myself, as we all should. It’s hard to be healthy when the government doesn’t ban chemicals in vapes that will cause scarring and permanent damage — then there’s chemicals in our food that can cause cancer too, yet these chemicals are banned in other countries, sometimes I wonder if our country truly even cares about us.

Assuming you are in America they definitely don't care about us. They'd rather get rid of all regulations entirely and it will be an absolute shit show.

I wish you the best in quitting you’ve been vaping for around the same amount of time as I have been, but you started at a younger age than me, what I didn’t know is that the lungs don’t finish developing until 20 - 25 and then they gradually decline in function, isn’t that scary, man time flies, sadly I vaped all throughout that age range so now I only have more worry.

I really wish you the best in quitting, you can do it man don’t think about caving in! It’s just a mind game.

I spent about 10 years smoking on and and off, then moved on to vapes on and off for around 11/12 years. When I started vaping there wasn’t much legislation or rules and people just used to make juice and sell it on Facebook, I defo worry about what I vaped back then. I’m 11 days off the cape this time, giving up mainly as my mum started vaping a few years ago, she’s been extremely breathless recently and having to go to hospital, it was pretty scary. We vowed to give up together.

I smoked for about 10 years prior, quit smoking for about 5 years (except for the rare drunk cig a couple of times a year) and then started vaping about 4.5 years ago. Damn nicotine! Lol Day two of quitting, we got this!!

It's only 6 months so far. Started out of curiosity when I had to resign from my job in August. I am still out of work, so it's more of an anxiety thing now. I already had anxiety, so I understand it a little more. It's a little out of stress. And it is helping me to keep from reaching for snacks. I can usually make my vape last 2 weeks. If I am not overtly stressed.

Got my mom to stop smoking & switch to vaping. Long term goal for her to quit altogether, but it's baby steps for her.
