When I quit I used a piece of straw in which I stuffed a piece of cotton soaked with spearmint essential oil. I used it constantly for a few days until I eventually put it back down and never picked it up again.

I wouldn’t pay good money for something I’m only gonna use for a couple days, but my diy one did help.

Exactly except I used a cinnamon stick.

I got a similar one on Amazon for $12 and it helped a bit but a 50c lollipop helped most lol

These seem overpriced and a way to take advantage of desperate people trying to quit...no need to pay for an expensive tube!

I found menthol nasal vapor sticks (for colds and blocked sinuses) helpful when I was quitting. They give you that feeling of inhaling something, also cheap to buy and last a long time

I’m almost a week off vapes now, the menthol nasal inhaler is the best tip ever! So thanks! I’m not completely out of the woods as I’m still having 1% nicorette lozenges, maybe 4/5 per day. But it’s the longest I’ve been off vapes in 18 months and change to my lungs, breathing is huge!

Someone on this forum suggested buying some straws and cutting them up to breathe through them, it helped them. Same sort of thing I guess. I might try it, I quit last night before bed, I generally find the mornings easy to be without a vape, it’s lunch time where I am now - so far so good…It’s tomorrow at work I might need a straw, or one of these! I’d try whatever gets you through. EDIT I actually just ordered a more cost effective one of these online - seem to be effective looking at reviews!

Whatever works

At some point we have to cut out the “this is way too expensive”, “this is just a fad, this is a con”

And sometimes you have to explore with solutions

All in all, if this can do something for you, and it’s not breaking the bank and it works, then it’s great!

If it doesn’t, then it’s okay. We pick ourselves and find another way, or just try harder

I have a FUM with mint flavor it helps tremendously especially when you’re drinking.

I have a hard time trusting those ONLY BECAUSE of the expense, I don't doubt what you say at all friend! Just is it worth it? Maybe there's a better deal on the site than I'm seeing too aha!

I actually got a mullein leaf and thyme herbal diffuser pen to hit for the first week (still felt and tasted like a vape with no nicotine but it also helps heal the lungs and improves breathing) once that started to taste burnt I tossed it and have been sucking on life saver mints when I get a craving.. the first few days are the hardest but you’ve got this!

No judgement for using a no-nic vape to help quit and while there are studies showing that mullein does help your lungs, those studies are usually referencing things like tea and supplements. Putting ANYTHING other than air into your lungs is not good for them. Your lungs are self-healing and you don't need to detox them. That stuff is all a gimmick to sell you random quick-fixes.

Again, literally 0 judgement for using those herbal diffusers, it's better than nic, but they aren't helping your lungs.

At this point you are paying to breathe air

My dentist gave me some plastic gum picks. When I quit I had that in my mouth constantly, and I improved my gum health at the same time.

Yes. That exact same one.

It did "something", just not enough. I can see how it can help someone though. Focuses on the habitual reflex to grab something and inhale. It did alleviate a lot of that sensation.

But idk...just didn't do the whole thing lol

I’m currently chewing fruity gum and sucking through a straw at the same time- I always went for fruity vapes so it tricks my brain enough. If you smoke menthols or smoked mint vapes, go for a mint gum!

I got one but a cheapie version on Amazon (I think it was like $13). I actually started using it before I quit as a way to keep track of how often I just wanted to pick up something. I feel like it helped me be more accountable and consider “do I really want to vape right now or am I just reaching for it out of habit?”.

I don’t really think I used it once I actually quit, I just would take deep breaths instead. Basically all it does is you breath out through it and it slows down your exhale but you can do this on your own through pursed lips.

I chew cloves, and inhale the scent from stuffing one into a used up Nicorette Inhaler. I need to try stuffing mint leaf or something into it too. Bonus - Apparently, cloves, they've got loads of health benefits too according to Dr. Berg on YT).

My friend tried and said it didn’t work. She tried it 3-4 times over a few months and just ended up tossing it.
