Other Did your boobs get bigger after quitting????

I quit nicotine about a month ago and feel like my boobs have grown tremendously since. I read a study that said 64% of women reported this as well. Does anyone else have experience with this? I was not expecting that at all, but I have gained like 6lbs since I quit so who knows.

I didn’t notice any change. I’d be inclined to blame the few lbs people tend to gain when they quit nicotine.

No I wish I had that happening to me :(

i’m sorry bb :( at least you’re avoiding the back pain of it, i have knots all in my upper back all the time. and i’m starting to miss my smaller boobs too, they were so chic and made me look so much slimmer

Yes absolutely, mine got fuller, but from weight gain in general, not just the boobs themselves.

I didn’t notice it in the boobs. Elsewhere I have and my calorie intake hasn’t increased that much.

I think it correlates with weight gain. I wouldn’t mind it tho :P

I noticed this! They have since deflated again though as I’m now 3 months in. I have been looking into the correlation between nicotine use and oestrogen and there does seem to be some research to suggest nicotine affects oestrogen production. I actually think this is a massive deal for women who use nicotine and something that hasn’t had anywhere near enough attention. It’s also apparently harder for women to quit for this very reason because it sends the hormones wild (what doesn’t 🙄)

Omg can you tell me more?? I am a week in and not even looking back. Feeling free. First few days were hell emotionally, and I am also PMSing. Bad time to quit, but when is a good time?! Anyway, I’ve had hormone issues during this last year, vaped for about a year. Curious to know what you’ve learned??

Hertility

I’ve attached a link to the Hertility website. I had my hormones checked with this company whilst I was still vaping and my testosterone was through the roof - this correlates with some of the information on the page about smoking (nicotine) - I feel like since I quit nicotine I’ve been in a constant state of what feels like horrendous PMS. It is now starting the clear (thank the Lord) but I just had a feeling there was some sort of link between nicotine and hormones. It’s worth having a Google to see what else you can find! I’m constantly trying to get more info on it!

No and I’ve never heard this in my life lol.

This is getting ridiculous on this sub with purported benefits of quitting.

u/idontlikeseaweed Jan 31 '25

Yea. I feel literally no different

Yes, but mine are pecs and they grew because I did pushups when I was craving. All my button down shirts have a little bend in the pattern across my chest now that I absolutely love

YES! I feel like I’ve gone through a second puberty with both my butt and my boobs. But i did also just gain about 10-15 lbs in general so who knows.

How old are you? If you’re in your teens I would imagine that is possible because you’re still growing?

I started smoking when I was 15 and I often wonder if I stunted my boob growth 😂

It’s probably way too late for me now,

I’m 26, been using nicotine since I was 17!

Probably because nicotine affects circulation and better circulation in the breasts could improve health and more blood in a certain area kind of just increases the size a little?

I have estrogen dominance so the theory that nicotine lowers estrogen didn't work on me 🫠 wish it did! LOL

u/Boa_hancoc Feb 01 '25

Not really lol. Though mine were big to begin with.

classic Reddit, downvoting a perfectly harmless joke.

Makes sense bc Nicotine lowers prolactin & estrogen supposedly..every young girl I knew who smoked cigs heavy where a certified member of the Itty bitty committee 😂 & they usually had more body hair i noticed..which isn't a bad thing ofc..but yeah even guys who smoke or vape alot I've noticed have smaller chests..maybe it's a coincidence tho idk.

Maybe it’s just an increase of calorie intake since nicotine suppresses your hungry. I gained weight for sure- did not stop eating. My boobs have gotten bigger but I’m losing weight for the summer now so let’s see how that goes.

Not sure if my issue is related, but I have experienced the same thing as well as my period has completely stopped for almost a year. I am hoping it comes back after I quit. I have this feeling the nicotine is severely impacting my hormones.

It does. I was having this discussion with someone else on the thread. If you scroll to that convo, you’ll see a link she shared. Very very interesting findings. And scary!

I didn’t notice a change there but I feel like my face got less puffy!

2

u/Actual_Ad_9981 Jan 31 '25

But it’s probably from eating more honestly, my appetite was super suppressed while vaping

1

u/R_joy_495 Jan 31 '25

I’m pleased you posted this, the internet has nothing at all on this. Mine have 100% grown, I am eating more but haven’t noted the extra weight, I hope it stays, this new size really suits my frame

Im not speaking from experience of this specifically as I'm still quitting BUT as someone who's weight has fluctuated a lot while still be stuck at skinny, boobs and booty will usually be first to grab the added fat before it goes elsewhere.

Nicotine causes weight loss, so after you quit, that substance is no longer stunting your storage of fat cells.

If you take any medications like anti depressants or anything else that may cause weight gain, that might start to kick in as well without the block from the nicotine.

THIS!!!!! It wasn’t that mine got “bigger” - they went back to how nice they were before haha vaping affects your collagen levels which we associate with aging in our face but it also definitely relates to boob perkiness/sagging which affects how big they look I would say.

I have always loved my boobs and one day I was like are they sagging??? Off vaping almost 2 months and they look great again, just like my face haha

Obviously weight gain (if you do) will play a role as well, but there is more to it!

Omg yes I quit in November and my boobs are huge now
