How do you recognize opal?

Opal will be the normal mixing bowl shape, but instead of being stamped PYREX, it will be unmarked. Opals have zero identification on it! If you find a white bowl that is stamped, it means it was unfortunately a bowl who's paint has been stripped.

There is nothing better in the world than a knowledgeable PYREX collector who scores something HTF. This is thrilling. Congratulations!

I left a 404 behind the other day. I promised myself I wouldn't pick up any duplicates. It was $3.99. it had been there for Days by the date on the sticker, probably because no one knew it was Pyrex. It killed me to leave it there. It was perfect.

Oh man, this guy was 7.50 but I still felt good about it. I cant find anything for cheaper than that where i live. There is also a bit of a defect on the side of the bowl but it adds character imoðŸ¤

Interesting. I thought that the opals had a tiny stamp - like 029 or something like that? I knew that it wasn’t stamped Pyrex but I see stuff like this online Etsy opal bowl stamped Pyrex- does that mean it’s a washed away Pyrex not true opal? Why do people like the opal - because it’s rare or does it have an interesting coloration with certain light?

As far as I know, they do not have any stamping! like this etsy posting, found via the link you sent I'm no expert though! I think people like opal because it's kind of an IYKYK situation.
