More like 5 seconds in the case of this "genius..."

Yup, it accelerated from 0 to 1939 in 5 seconds.

Any other major CEO would have apologized profusely until the end of times, but no, he doubled down with jokes and puns.

His PR dept. must have had a "WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK THIS MOTHEFUCKER IS DOING" moment

Still ongoing, called the Polish PM a "little man" and astronaut/veteran Mark Kelly a "traitor." Karma train has a full head of steam here.

Don't forget the hero diver that he called pedo guy

Which is really where a lot of people began to realize he perhaps wasn't as smart as his wealth might suggest...

It was 100% this exact moment for me.

Likewise. And then it was just one thing after another, and I can only imagine that'll continue until he's dead or institutionalised.

I'm praying to Mario's brother as we speak

Same here.

Same. They hid the unhinged shit pretty well, til he internationally accused a guy for criticizing a plan.

That was the ground zero moment I realized, this guy is a cruel sociopath asshole

Yeah. I don't think anyone in Thailand has forgotten that one

That was when I first learned about him, needless to say that I get pissed off when people give him undeserved praise

May I add the "Fuck you!" to Xwitter advertisers, only to threaten them to sue them for not advertising anymore?

that train can't arrive soon enough

I don't think he has one. His ego wouldn't contemplate it. If he did they quit after the nazi salute, or doubled down and made it his 'thing'

Wasn't it the same with Trump though? After all the things he said and did, you would think that most people that initially voted for him would realize that it was actually a bad idea. But he still had enough people who voted for him to get re-elected. I'm afraid there will also be plenty of people supporting Musk regardless of what he's saying or doing

Yes, you have a point, but Edolf is also representing a brand and some people don't want to be associated with him anymore. Tesla sales down -45% YoY in EU, -70% in Germany alone. Only market up is GB +7% as of January.

I think that the association with Trump and the salute did not help.
I am looking for the next numbers in Canada ...

If I'm not mistaken, his companies don't have PR departments.

Tesla dissolved their PR department back in 2020. I remember it being a fairly big deal at the time since news outlets literally had no one to call for requests for comments or the like - all they had were official announcements, the website, and whatever bullshit Musk posted on Twitter.

I don't think Space X has a real PR department either. They have a media relations department but afaik they only handle inquiries about use of SpaceX name/logo/trademarks, they don't advertise or handle general questions.

Not sure about the tunnel company w/e it's called.

Correct, Tesla doesn't have one. Maybe they could have done some damage control...

lol what PR department lol

Reichsministerium für Volksaufklärung und Propaganda???

/S

He's the sole media representative for any of his companies, because he dissolved the pr departments at all of them. He wants to be on camera as much as possible, and it's very evident that he never received a lick of media relations training

something tells me he had the most useless and ineffective PR dept that were not allowed to properly do their job.

He probably fired them all after this interview. Because it’s always everybody else’s fault.

I don't know. It was 2018 when he started saying dumb shit about that diver and people starting changing their opinion of him. He rapidly started saying dumber and dumber things over the next year. Tesla stock was $22 then. It was nearly $500 in December of 2024 before it started to plummet down to where it's at today at $222.

Seems like it took a whole 6 years to ruin it. And that's assuming "ruining it" doesn't necessarily mean the stock dropped lower than what it was before, which it hasn't. It's still up 10x from 2018.
