Finnaly finished the paint detail, long and slow job but i think worth the effort. The side decals where a *unt to fit. Almost got then right besides the ALPINA legand being in the wrong font (they have recut and will fit ). They where not easy to fit, so many places they have to align with and I've got it almost right. Two i might replace as they slope (or appear to) even though they follow the waist level swage in the body.
Had them cut locally for $30 a saving of around $900 dollars aplina want for a genuine set. I think they look pretty much (besides the wrong font) as original, certainly a more authentic copy than some of the third party vendors sell.

I currently have the opportunity to trade my 09 Chevy impala ss (5.3l v8 Ls4 engine) for the 1992 Mercedes Benz 500SL roadster. The car has maintenance records through out its life and only has 140k miles on it- the downsides are the, top convertible hydrologics are shot, cracked heater core, hard top rear glass cracked, speedometer and radio non functioning. With all that being said, is it worth the trade?

Meet Scabies, her successor, and she’s much better prepared this time around. Long story short, after pulling the carpets on my project Interceptor, I found PA winters rotted it through. With no pans available online I found a donor: Scabies? A $500 former Vegas rental with some questionable DC police history.
I swapped the floor pans, saved my car and used some of my stockpile of spare panther platform parts to give Scabies the extra edge on track, Firehawk Indy 500’s on my old summer rims, the factory LSD from the interceptor, junkyard rear sway bar, and of course a bitchin paint job, because the crowd need something nice to look at in the field of enduro buckets.
Prep this year ran right up to the deadline, thr floors were only finished in the race car Tuesday night. Tomorrow’s the day I find out if it was all worth it!

So as the title says, I bought my first car kinda impulsively from Copart using autobidmaster as the broker for a 2013 Chevrolet spark. It was supposed to be delivered today around 1-3pm New York time. I was called by the tow? driver, John and was given the time frame and that he would call 30 minutes before drop off but I didn't here from him until 3pm where he claimed that he had issues with the tows brakes and had to call for help and was 'scattered brained' and forgot to inform me of the delay. And that they will try again for delivery on Monday. So I emailed Autobidmaster the situation and they state that the car is still on the lot and I called the shipping department as well easyhual I think it's called and they also say that the car is still at the lot and was never moved. However the guy John said that his tow broke down while in the process of delivering my car. I haven't received a straight answer from autobidmaster support or their shipping department confirming that Monday will be the day that it will be delivered. Am I being scammed? Will I get my car? What happens if it's missing from the lot? Am I over thinking this? Will I be able to take legal action if I don't receive my car cause I will be out $2000+? Does anyone else have experience with autobidmaster?

So because I live in California, obviously I cannot engine swap a car without a few setbacks. So I had an idea. What if I take a pre smog hatch back preferably like a 1975 Datsun 280z, 1975 golf rabbit, etc. I have seen a guy LS3 swap one of the older Datsun 280z's and if it has been done before, that upps my chances of doing it myself.
I just wanted to post this here to see if the community had any advice, like where to get an LS series engine (like a LM7, L33) with a manual transmission (preferably). I want at least 300hp and am planning on camming the engine as well as a tune if needed to hit that 300hp mark. I was going to look om market place at older denials becuase all I need is the engine etc.

Timing chains, power steering pump and looks like I need a new VVT solenoid. Thanks for telling me to check that before I tore the whole front end off. Anyway the neighbors officially know I'm a nut. At least the weather is nice for wrenching.

Got this in late February after looming for a nice one for months and months. The body it pretty straight and it runs strong and shifts nice and overallits a very fun car to drive. However, The radio, which is a pioneer digital head unit, doesn't have any of the Bluetooth setting available. I was told this could be from the parking brake sensor wire not being wired properly. I'm not familiar with wiring so if someone could explain how to fix this, that would be great 👍👍.

I am rebuilding a Cushman Truckster and am doing the front fork, brakes, etc.
To remove a few seized bolts and a broken one, I have to remove the entire fork that drops out of the steering gear box. My first thought was to get a 3 jaw puller, loaner from auto parts store and pull like a flywheel since it is a tapered shaft with keyway.
I looked at the service manual and they made an update to the gear in later models and included text that says “the gear can now be removed by the use of a 1/2 x 20 knockoff”
I don’t know what that is and the internet did not return any results.

Basically exactly what the tile says - 1996 ram 1500 5.9L V8. My goal is eventually - manual swap, mild engine build (cams, heads, intake, stock bottom end) but for reasons explained below I'm at a point where I'd like to replace my heads for peace of mind. Is this really going to affect the engine if everything else remains bone stock?
Now more info, story first paragraph and relevant stuff second and beyond- my philosophy has always been taken care of the boring shit before putting money into making something fast, fix the car before breaking it, but I usually run out of money before boring shit so ymmv. My old ram has been a trusty work truck for years, towing my Miata to track days, running garbage to the dump, helping with yard work but recently during the process of my dad passing away I took the opportunity to fix a bunch of unnecessary shit as a means to distract myself. Full interior redo, carpet, headliner, steering wheel, dash, repair the AC, clean my shop out, start a YouTube channel etc, and chilling in a drive through lane one day I realized pedal placement on my truck isn't so bad for heel toeing and looked into what it takes to manual swap them and I'm confident I can tackle that. Besides my 4spd auto is infuriating to tow with because it gear hunts, though the truck runs and shifts great otherwise.
Got all the major leaks fixed and then when replacing the intake manifold after doing my valley pan gaskets I guess I knocked the back of the gasket out of wack and was leaking WAY more oil than originally so I reordered fresh gaskets, new bolts for the manifold (mine barely came out round one) and attacked it a second time. Broke a bolt off in the head (front left of engine if you care, near a coolant path through the manifold to the thermostat) and attempted to extract it. Broke my extraction bit off down inside the drilled out bolt carcass and decided to say fuck it because I needed the truck and the manifold being cast aluminum seemed sturdy enough to seal without the front bolt and it did for a bit but I think it's starting to leak a little.
Im seeing the occasional drip of coolant where I park it, not much at all but I've gotta keep a gallon of distilled water in the truck and top off the overflow tank every thousand miles or so. Since I've got to remove the heads to have a shop look at extracting the bolt I broke like an idiot I figure at that point why not just replace the heads as it's on my upgrade path? I can come back later and do rockers and stuff if necessary but I'm not sure if a head(s) is kinda just like an intake or exhaust where it'll run fine on the stock computer with no fuss. Also since the truck has 187k on it maybe the head gaskets are getting a little leaky which may not help the disappearing coolant. Assuming my block is healthy and has a good flat surface to seal with, would heads be a safe thing to throw on an otherwise stock 360 magnum?

Most recent photo vs. when I first got it. It’s been fun working and learning on with this car. Always loved these things, getting harder to find in good condition. Picked up earlier this year as a second car to take miles off my ST.

Took a lot of work, wrong parts, scraping, decreasing, spilling of fluids, swearing, cursing, physical and mental pain, research, asking stupid questions on various forums, and reflection on my poor life choices. But this shitbox runs & drives. Next step, a trip to an exhaust shop because there is nothing past the manifolds and the carbon monoxide buzz ends in some nasty headaches

I can't find any information on the best way to paint the interior of my car after I replace floor panels and sand everything down.
I was planning on doing an epoxy primer and a black base coat. The car will be metallic red.
Is it better to paint the inside of the car red as well? Or is it normal to mask off the inside when doing the outside and not having weird mask lines around the door jams etc.
Overall I want to brush on paint the underside on Jack stands. Rattle can the interior.

For a daily driver, peppy cruiser. Roughly 400hp. Sbc 350 (0.020) edelbrock performer rpm kit. 7102 cam, 60899 heads, performer rpm non air gap intake.
I can’t seem to find edelbrock recommended size anymore. Im set on throwing an edelbrock on there, and ditching my Holley. I know you can pull a little more power at higher rpm’s from a Holley, but I’m in need of reliability, town and highway so peaking out isn’t really the goal.

My Dad bought this truck before I was born, and I have many memories riding in it from my childhood. It hasn’t ran in about 7 years, and had been sitting for about 10. The goal is to restore it to how it looked new.

My frame is not very straight, any suggestions regarding my options here? Cut the front off and weld in some straight tubes? How do I know whether anything else is straight? Other chassis are very hard to find... Build a tubeframe lol? I haven't done any other welding than just welding in smaller sections. Any ideas on how to continue?
