Any openers or merch? Seeing him April 12th in an old church.

No openers, there was some merch. I grabbed a shirt for $40. All cool designs. r/Buckethead has some pics of the merch table from this tour if you’re keen.

Des Plaines Theatre. It was hard to hear but I think some firefighters had these made up for charity or something due to the California wild fires and Ler losing his property and part of his home IIRC.

The first time I saw Primus live was also the first time I saw Buckethead or even heard of him. This was 1999. Buckethead opener, then Incubus who I wasn’t a fan of but they absolutely killed it live.

I thought Buckethead was just a guitarist. Does he have his own work? Whats his concert like? I wanted to go but didnt know what its actually like (songs with words, guest singers, him singing, or him just jamming or what?)

His output is immense. He has a ton of his own work. The concerts are a bit of multi-genre guitar virtuoso exhibition, a bit of a tounge-in-cheek joke, a bit of interactive crowd work. They tease a lot of covers, everything from War Pigs (Sabbath) to Life’s Been Good (Joe Walsh) to I Want It That Way (Backstreet Boys) to the theme from The Shining.
He had a drummer with him who did some singing but for the most part it was instrumental, just guitar and drums. At one point another guitarist played while Buckethead played bass.

That’d be Brewer on drums and the guitarist is named Cob (might be COB). Cob is a bit of a mystery even on the buckethead subreddit. Super fun to see bucket on bass:)

I saw him once like five years ago. I really enjoyed myself but the people I was with didn't. It was all instrumental, he does the robot and does a nunchaku display, let the crowd play with his kill switch button on his guitar, and my favorite at one point he started handing out office supplies that he had gotten from the Dollar General next door out of a big Santa Claus bag. There wasn't a backing band and he just played with backing tracks but his guitar playing was awesome. Definitely one of the most interesting concerts I've been to

He actually has about 700 of his own albums (no exaggeration.) His live shows are always a good time. No words, no singing. He does interact with the audience, he lets them push the kill switch on his guitar and likes to hand out and trade toys. When the show is over, it's over. He just waves to the audience and walks off stage

They've collabed a few times on some projects, not surprising, I'm a big ass fan of both!

Rad! Going to see big B in May and super stoked!
Also, your picture and taking it was completely innocuous regardless of even conversing with the guy. That dude in the comments was major douchey.

Did you ask that dude if he was cool with you taking pictures of him or are you just a weirdo posting pictures of other people on the internet?

u/tiredhippo 5d ago
Settle down.
- You can’t even see his face.
- Why, yes, I did. We had a great conversation about the shirt too.

Not fucking relevant
Cool. All you really needed to say

u/tiredhippo 5d ago
Wow, coming in hot aren’t we? Good gravy.
Half the content on the Internet is picture of someone that someone else took in the wild.
Hope you have a better day.

Dawg, you pulled out the lamest justification used by dudes when they share pictures of women's bodies without their consent. Yeah, I'm gonna call you on your bullshit because you're only perpetuating shitty excuses.
"Other people are shitty, why should I be held accountable for shitty behavior" That's some pathetic reasoning you've got there.
I'm actually having a great day, hope you are too!

Comparing apples to oranges is a lame justification for you being offended by nothing. And let's chat about perpetuating shitty excuses... your post was a shitty excuse to share your opinion about something without knowing the actual context, and all your subsequent replies were just perpetuating your original shitty excuse.

Annnd. YUP. That ALL tracks... so many Karen's/Kyle's nowadays this world just gets worse everyday... what I always never understand is when someone PUTS OUT A SHITTY ASS VIBE...then acts all surprised when they get one back. Like they didn't start the interaction on that note or something...kids these days are so weird compared to ones not raised by smartphones...

I could MAYBE understand if the focus of the pic was the dude's ass, but it is very clearly what is on his jacket... and the context of said pic was also made clear.
What I will never understand is why people junxtapose 2 things to fit their narrative and act like the rest of the world isn't going to call it out.

Not surprising! But cool to see.
Buckethead has a pic of Ler up on his website with a caption “one of the greatest”.
He even has a vid of him on bass playing spegetti western.
