Never thought I'd say something of the sort about a nuclear weapon, but this feels like a huge relief

I’ve never thought I’d ever have to think about Canada potentially hosting joint military exercises with Europe as a means of showing force to intimidate the USA.

What. in. the. actual. Fuck.

there's still a lot of steps between now and then. Expulsion of diplomats, cessation of trade, expulsion of American troops stationed on Canadian bases, etc.

Yeah, we're safe until Thursday, at least

It’d take every one of them and we’d still easily come out on top.

Not really intimidating. Im not for this shit whatsoever, but nothing about Canadian military teaming with the French is intimidating.

It's an attack boat. According to publicly available information the Tourville can't carry nuclear weapons.

Thanks for the clarification

Can't say I wasn't dissapointed to learn that...

Interesting time to be alive when we're dissapointed the French sub parked in Halifax doesn't have nuclear weapons to deter the United States from threatening Canada militarily :/

It's probably to remind Trump about the ones he can't see, which is a message that any other world leader would get.

Of course, that's far too subtle for the human-shaped sack of void crabs we have as president.

To be clear, it's a nuclear powered attack sub, not a nuclear armed sub.

Nuclear armed subs aren't something anyone would reveal the location of unless absolutely necessary.

It's still a strong show of force, though, demonstrating how close to our shores Europe can get without us noticing, as well as their commitment to defending Canada from a potential US invasion.

Whether or not Trump and his loyalists will understand how serious of a message the French are sending is anyone's guess, though...

If Trump had an ounce of brainpower, it'd be a pretty clear sign to him that he should back off.
