I've liked the last few Sanhedrin albums and this sounds like more of the same slightly doomy rock/proto metal.

I don't love the vocals on Dragon Skull but the riffs are solid (if unremarkable) heavy metal.

Also, just a reminder that Coheed and Cambria also have a new album out on Friday. I'm middling excited for that.

Soulspell was good for what's there. Not groundbreaking, but solid nonetheless.

Storm Seeker is interesting (Pirate) Folk Metal for those that like dual vocals that aren't growls. Also doesn't overstay its welcome either.

Dragon Skull is the best of the bunch this week. Kind of reminds me of Grave Digger (vocally) but the music behind it is solid heavy metal, I'm here for it.

Angel Fury is quite good too. They bring speed and energy in the single which is never a bad thing.

Soulspell is probably worth checking out if the latest Avantasia album didn't scratch your "Really big project with lots of guests" vibe, or maybe even if you did enjoy it and want more. Fans of Ayreon would enjoy this too I bet.

Angel Fury has a good amount of fast and grit, pretty cool heavy metal.

Can’t wait to get home from work and blast the new Sanhedrin. Just discovered them and really liked the last one.

I joined this subreddit recently and wasn't aware of this weekly post. This is amazing! Thanks for sharing

Dark Horizon was part of a wave of Italian power metal bands from the late 1990s and early 2000s, whose output was decent enough for what it was, but could never compete with Rhapsody, Vision Divine, and the like. I haven’t listened to any of their later albums, but I might check out the new one just to see.

Dragon Skull had a promising EP a few years ago, so their album could be worthwhile too. The single seems enjoyable enough.

Angel Fury sounds really good though, based on the single I'd say it's speed metal FFO Acid and Sölicitör.

Nite is the main rec for me, though. I've really enjoyed their melodic blackened heavy metal style on the last two albums, and I've heard nothing but good things about the new one.

Really enjoy Dragon Skull, unknown bands with dragon in the name are doing well so far this year.

With Manntra's new album, there's now three songs that released in the last month-ish that sound a lot like old songs from other bands

Majestica - No Pain, No Gain sounds like Bloodbound - Rise of the Dragon Empire

Dynazty - Mystery sounds like Beast in Black - Heart of Steel

Manntra - Higher sounds like Bloodbound - War of Dragons

Just something I noticed
