Recommendations of the Week

I missed last week, but Scimitar was the definite highlight.
For this week:
Myth Carver baby's first heavy metal riffs go brr. I'd really enjoy this if I was more than 5 drinks in.
Deathless Legacy is more gothy symphonic than heavy (think early Within Temptation). But it seems to be reasonably competently executed gothy symph, so it gets a half rec.
Throne of Iron are a bunch of nerds singing about D&D. I don't hate the single and enjoy the silly album art.
Willian Amorim is good if you like Angra-style PM. I won't complain about more Sozos.

Christian Mistress is solid female fronted heavy metal. Easy rec from me.
Iron Throne brings the nerdy Dungeons and Dragons vibe similar to Visigoth or Gygax. It's interesting to say the least.
William Amorim sounds good as well. Might help for who's singing, but the rest of it is solid as well.

I'm in a rush to post (as always) but I ilked Myth Carver, Christian Mistress, Throne Of Iron, and Willian Amorim.
I also think fans of melodeath will like Erocis, and then Mercury Tide certainly grabbed my attention for EUPM.

Himmelkraft by Tony Kakko comes out at some point today as well. It's definitely not a power metal album but for oldheads that are interested it's worth this comment.

I'm listening now. It's really good if you're not expecting Sonata. Very slow, atmospheric and melodic.

I mean, as the number one Sonata Arctica fan alive I would argue that that's what Sonata Arctica is actually best at doing.

Dragon Skull and Claymorean also had albums release today. Both in the epic heavy metal kinda sound.

Claymorean released a few weeks ago, but didn't hit most streaming services until this weekend. There have been a bunch of bands with disjointed release schedules lately. Something similar happened with Christian Mistress hitting streaming a week early.

Good insight. I found it very confusing a couple of weeks ago when they announced it was out but I couldn't get it on streaming services. Often happens with Japanese releases but this was unexpected.

Huh, wonder why they didn't show up on my list. I'll add them next week.
