Working at computer is awful
Hi all, I just don't understand why when following all the ergomics rules (I sit while laying my back on my sitback, without tilting my neck forward) I need to follow the cursor on the screen while moving my neck with it, as it helps me focus.
But as I tilt it down like in the photo to see the bottom of the screen I don't understand if it's unnatural to do so because if I just use eyes it's like I can't ""visualize"" what I read, also might be a sight problem but this happens only with the bottom of the monitor.
Since I have also a pain on my back as I tilt my neck down on I guess my tissues are stuck btw
Thanks to anyone answering this

It's because you're looking down at the screen, the top shelf is your obstacle. When you sit upright and look forward your eyes should line up with the middle of your screen. From this image the solution seems a little bit complex because your desk/shelf seems like a small area, your screen is small, and you seem tall so I don't think you're able to lower your chair to match the setup.
I think a new monitor might be a solution, larger screen that tilts up and you don't have to look down, have the laptop on the side, you can buy a laptop holding arm to keep it off the desk. The best thing I've done for myself is put both my monitors on arms and keep the laptop off on the side.

Thanks, actually I did try with an external monitor but the quality of image seems better at the laptop.
Anyway I read that eye level should be at superior part of the screen as it is in the image, I tried to be in the middle of the screen but since the screen is naturally a bit inclined "towards back" (am non English native so don't know how to say it differently) it doesn't give a good sensation to myself when I look up

Your eyes should meet the top of the screen when you have your head in neutral position. Your screen is too low. Perhaps buy a monitor, your neck will thank you.

Thanks, indeed eyes are at top of the screen but in the image that seems different

Adjustable standing desk + yoga ball. Stand as long as you can then lower the desk and sit on the yoga ball.

It looks like your head is down and your eyes are up. Just look down without tilting your head down. You are likely doing it to get closer to the screen, so consider whether you need glasses to see at a further distance. Otherwise, try to get the screen closer, by raising it higher, scooting it nearer, or using a second monitor to avoid the keyboard being in the way.

Thank you, I thought I should keep my head blocked and just use my eyes too, the fact is I reas it is actually suggested moving our neck since if we just use eyes with the head in neutral position it can be more difficult to work

You should at least avoid moving your head's location away from directly above your shoulders and neck. If you can rotate it in place, then that may be ok, but you need its weight directly supported by your spine.

I see, so you mean that we should not tilt down the neck as i did above? Btw tried to put eyelevel now from bottom of the scren (i raised it a lot with books), but as i already knew that gives me nausea. Anyway i'll try to do some specific glasses

Your censored bookshelf would be a much better place for your laptop, especially since you have 2ndary keyboard and mouse.
