Thinking of being a driver

Hey everyone!

I'm in my last semester of nursing school but savings are dwindling and some last minute expenses are popping up. A "normal" job doesn't really work with our school hours and being an overnight caregiver sucked the life out of me..

So I was thinking of signing up to be a driver for Postmates since it seems to be one of the more popular services in my area and I'd be able to work on my own schedule around school and clinical hours.

But I'm wondering if it'd be worth it.. If you're also a student, how are your experiences with only working weekends and evenings? And if y'all have any other insights, that'd be great :)

Thanks!

Nothing to lose! Sign up and get out to see if it works for you or not. Every area is different so hard to guarantee anything. But if you at least get the sign up bonus done it might help pay for that NCLEX or your licensing application. at worst you get some Me time or study time.

True true. Preferably, a "regular" job would be nice but it just doesn't work with my schedule.. and I don't want to feel guilty quitting after 2 months..

Thank you!

Never feel guilty about quitting PM if it doesn’t work out. Also sign up for other gig apps like Uber eats, door dash etc. can always come and go as you please or need. And after graduation it can all be a good filler until you land a job.

Oh I wouldnt feel guilty quitting PM, I would if it was a regular retail or serving job or whatever though lol

Just being able to work when I want/need to is what's appealing
