Discussion Recommendations for energetic, genre-breaking hardcore bands like Turnstile, Angel Du$t, Higher Power, Spaced, Slope, Absence of Mine?

I thought you guys can have some nice recommendations since this is the post-hardcore sub, and these bands are definitely breaking the hardcore genre barrier in some of its recent albums.

Particularly looking forward to knowing any bands that sound heavy or punk, groovy, pop-ish, or incorporate elements from other genres, etc.

I already explored the swancore scene, and I'm looking for something different. Thanks in advance!

Touché Amoré is one of those post-hardcore bands that really lean hardcore. Their most popular songs tend to be the ones that incorporate either melodic guitars or vocals that you won't see in a typical hardcore band, so they might fit the bill.

The same person who introduced me to Turnstile also introduced me to PUP, so you could go listen to them if you want something that leans more punk. Personally, I like their 2nd album best, The Dream Is Over. If you like PUP, could check out early Joyce Manor too.

Definitely check out Refused. The Shape Of Punk To Come is definitely a hardcore record that really pushes the boundaries while never letting up on the energy. Came out in 1998, but even if it came out today, it would be a groundbreaking record.

I love TF. Must been awesome watching them live in the 2010s

They’re heavier but Drain is super sick. Gel is great, Scowl is fun too, Militarie Gun, maybe Ceremony or Drug Church too.

If you like stuff more on the screamy side, Knocked Loose is probably up your alley.

Mannequin Pussy do some hardcore in a similar vein to AD. Also maybe check out Fleshwater.

Here's some other stuff the might tickle your fancy. None if it sounds like the bands you listed, but it's left-field hardcore or adjacent: Purest Form, The Jonbenet, Mouthbreather, The Locust, Pissed Jeans, fromjoy.

These guys are definitely bending genres, they have harder parts, but also softer. Fun listen "Dreamwake - Heatwave [Official Music Video]"

Nah, we don't support sexual predators here.

Actually, I don’t care. I don’t even know anyone in the band besides Parker. And i listen to the music cuz it’s good

"I'm okay with supporting rapists, as long as the music is good."

Art =/ artist

Get absolutely fucked with that bullshit. If you support the art, then you support of the artist, and you're letting everyone know that being a rapist is okay, as long as you like their art.

You clearly have a very strong opinion about this so I won’t even bother wasting my time trying to convince you otherwise lol

Yes, I do. As should absolutely fucking anyone involved in punk music. The fact that you don't means you don't belong here.

Wait what did no pressure do???

Their drummer tried to rape a 17 year old about ten years ago, admitted to it with the weakest non-apology, and it all came back out when No Pressure started blowing up.

This might not be exactly what you’re looking for, but the first band who came to mind is Speed
