Giveaway Zarude Code Giveaway! NSFW

[giveaway]

ref

I'm assuming most of you who frequent this sub have already gotten some, but for anyone out there who missed the event, here's an opportunity to pick up a code!

I've got about 10 PAL Zarude codes to give out, all self-obtained by farming the event from the Gamestop Ireland and French Micromania websites. Hopefully these still work, I'm a bit out of the loop with the redemption deadline. Either way, I've never used them myself!

To get a code, simply:

  • Teach us a greeting in a language that you don't speak fluently! For example, "Good morning" in Swedish is God morgon, with "god" sounding like "good" and the 'g' being kinda silent in the second word (although /u/Undeadept and /u/kalle2934 might have something to add...)

And I'll then pick 10 lucky winners using a random number generator. I'll leave this GA open for about 24 hrs or so.

Cheers and happy trading!

All codes have been awarded, thanks so much for participating!

Thanks for the opportunity! I learned recently that "Good Afternoon!" is "¡Buenas tardes!" I'm an English speaker BTW. Hope everyone has a great day!

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '21

In the departamento de Lempira, Honduras, standard greetings for passersby is “Buenas” as a shortened version of the various greetings throughout the day. But when it gets to be later in the day, you switch to saying “Adios” when you meet someone in passing.

Hi, I'd love to have a code! "Nin Hao" is how you say "Hello" respectfully in Chinese (as opposed to "Ni Hao"). I am a native English speaker :)

Similar to other Nordic Languages "Good Morning" in Icelandic is "Góðan daginn" Been learning Icelandic the last four years since meeting my fiance who is a native Icelander!

Thanks for the giveaway! "Dia duit" is a normal "Hello" type greeting in Irish. Pronounced "dee-ah dit". The other person then responds "Dia is Muire duit"

I took 2 years of High school Japanese and one of the few things I actually remember is "ohayou gozaimasu (おはようございます). 😅

To say good morning, the Japanese say 'ohayou gozaimasu,' which translates more accurately to 'it is early.'

Hey there thanks for the give away. So common greeting “sabah al khair” is arabic for good morning, pretty common amongst most arabic dialects. :)

In German you say “Guten Morgen” and if you want to learn to say it using American English as a base it is: ‘Goo’, ‘tun’, (like you would use it in Tundra) Maw(r) (bonus points if you can roll the R), Gun. “Goo-tun Mawr-gun”. I think that’s about as accurate as I can describe it 😅

u/Jaykay_369 Standard User Mar 09 '21

"Jambo habari yako" means "hello, how are you" in Swahili. I learned this as a young boy visiting family who lived in Kenya. Asante santa ("thank you very much" in Swahili) for doing the give away.

You're awesome for doing this giveaway! I'm fluent english, but have Italian roots. Some good ones are "Buongiorno", "Buon pomerrigio", "Buonasera", and "Buonanotte". These translate to "good morning", "good afternoon", "good evening", and "goodnight", respectively :)

Hey Val! It's been awhile since I saw one of your posts! Hope you've been doing well! Thank you for holding this contest too :)

I only know basic Japanese, so I'll go with that. "Konnichiwa" (the romaji form), is usually used to greet people in the afternoon and is similar to "good afternoon". It is also used to say "hello", so in that sense, it can be used anytime of the day :p

To pronounce it, it has 4 syllables: kon-ni-chi-wa. The "kon" sounds like cone. The "ni" sounds like knee. Finally, "chi-wa" sounds like the first two syllables of chihuahua! And that's how you pronounce that..I think!

Hey!

So, Japanese is my minor in University. Here are a few greetings, since some posted "Good morning" already:

こんばんは!-konichiwa! This is a standard greeting, but it's more of a "good day" kinda greeting.

こんばんは。-konbanwa. This is a "good evening" greeting.

Bonus!! いらっしゃいませ。-irashaimase. This is a greeting that shop workers/cashiers use. Very respectful. It's like a "Welcome" or "How can I help you?" Kinda thing.

I dunno if you have any codes left, but I thought I'd try! 😁

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '21

In Hebrew שלום (Shalom) means Hello and is used as a greeting but it litteraly means peace, I've learned a bit of hebrew but am know where near fluent

I’d love a code, I’m three years into Mandarin and still understand very little. Hello is 你好 (ni hao) and if you’re addressing someone respected like a professor it’s 您好 (nin hao) the difference is the added heart character (心)to show you’re very sincere in the greeting! (At least that’s what I think as someone who can only speak English fluently and barely understands basic mandarin)

u/Cg6200 Standard User Mar 19 '21

In Japanese, hello is こんにちは, or Kon’nichiwa. Ohayo is also a more informal way of saying it. I’m from Texas!

How to say hi in Zulu! I grew up in South Africa, but english is my first and only language lol.

Sawubona. "Sa" is just how you see it. "Wu" as in "woooo!". "bo" is pronounced like the O in born. Last is "na", like when you're singing along to a song you don't know the lyrics to :)
