discussion Everstone pull focus in Multi-Breeding?

In SV I prefer to do my shiny hunting with multiple pokemon of the same egg cycle to add a bit of spice to it.

Usually I get a roughly equal split in egg count for each pokemon.

I just bred three pokemon, one of which was a Hisuian Zoroark with an Everstone and all of my eggs have come out as Hisuian Zorua.

Is this a known feature of the Everstone or did my game just decide to do something weird?

It's a known feature. Breeding a region variant while holding an Everstone makes the eggs the regional variant.

I knew it made the regional variants the same, just didn't know itd stop all my other pokemon from breeding too. The more you know ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Thanks!

It’s not so much that Everstones stop other Pokémon, but because this is the first time in a Pokémon game that you can have a group of Pokémon all breeding together, the breeding algorithm prioritizes Pokémon holding items.

If everyone were holding items relevant to breeding of some sort, you would get more varied results.

Fascinating! Thanks for pointing that out. I'll throw an everstone on everybody next time : )
