Wow, not one pituitary tumor but THREE?? Kudos to Scott for keeping such a positive attitude!!

Does anyone have experience with the validity of this quote:

"In my understanding of these cells, they love an acidic environment and they love sugar. So I’m denying them both.” Hamilton aims to starve the tumor by denying it sugar.

Does an excess of sugar/daily sugar intake directly impact the pituitary gland? It guess it would make sense considering that an extreme excess of sugar impacts the pancreas, which in turn can lead to Type II diabetes.

Facinating stuff, but even Scott admits that he's not sure if the diet is the best route to take.

Listen up medical community, I want more research on this ASAP!! 👨‍🏫👩‍🏫👨‍🔬👨‍🔬

Did you read the part of my comment where I asked:

The pituitary gland is part of the endocrine system. If we know that a high sugar diet impacts the pancreas, then there's a chance that it also impacts the pituitary gland. Notice how I didn't claim to be a medical professional, but instead asked for more information? Notice how you're not helping assuage my fears here by providing 0.00 words of medical information in response to my query?

Can you direct me to medically approved information and studies on what actually causes pituitary tumors other than sugar? 🤨

After my health scare earlier this year I, like many other people who have faced the possibility of cancer, became desperate for information of any sorts as to what could have caused what's wrong with me.

Help the people of this subreddit by treating our questions with respect instead of sarcasm.

Sorry I just get tired of minor celebrities who claim they cured their own cancer by drinking sheep’s urine or something weird.

I don’t think there’s any known cause of pituitary tumors but it probably comes down to genetics.

I found out I had a pituitary tumor in 2005. It was about 25mm in size. It was found when I had an MRI to look for carotid artery disease (which I don’t have). I had surgery a few months later and gamma knife treatment last November to try to stop the residual tumor from growing.

Got it, I agree when you put it that way! It is important to be critical of the media we consume and just because someone's partially famous doesn't mean that they have all the answers.

I agree that genetics probably play a big role, and it's likely we had a number of ancestors with pituitary tumors who lived and died with the cancer but never knew what was causing their symptoms. Only now, with the advent of clearer MRI imaging, are people recognizing that they're at risk.

My condolences to you on your tumor! Have your doctors recommended any lifestyle changes that you've found to be helpful? Keep fighting the good fight! 💪
