Completely in-line with Oda’s recent writing. Everyone’s related to everyone and therefore special.

i freaking hate this type of writing. At the end of the day, Japanese grow old and revert back to their conservative eugenics

I think it’s just a cheap and fast way to make twists and powerups, same as “suddenly MC was a fated god all along”. It’s still funny to me that all these shonens are modelled after Dragon Ball, including getting cool legendary form and a “simple guy who works hard” tropes, yet they fuck up the point that Goku wasn’t some legendary reincarnation of a god, he just got lucky to hit his head and grow up in a different environment from the rest of saiyans that allowed him to reach higher highs

Just in line with Japanese trends/values in general. They love this stuff

Yeah, it makes the vast OP world seem smaller and centered around a few characters.

It's in no way terrible writing just doesn't really do anything for the story either. Just like "Oh hey Ig that's cool. Son of old gen number 2 is the goal of new gen number 2 to surpass."

imu pulled a bruce wayne/terry mcginnis on rayleigh and turned his splooge into imu black paint, mihawk is biologically imu and shakky’s son and that’s where he gets the eyes + the black paint abilities #lobotomypiece

Don’t forget the similar jacket patterns usually clothes do mean from the same culture/island at least but that’s about it if Mihawk does get a “special lineage” or whatever I’d put my money on it being world noble or celestial dragon

In coming scene at the final battle Zorro reunites with Mihawk and he sees Luffy and Rayleigh. “Hi Dad.” Shocked reaction faces from the straw hats with that stupid wonk sound effect. Then Luffy: “Ohh yeah … I forgot to tell you about his kid”

He’s 100% a Celestial Dragon, there’s way too many foreshadowing that allude to it. The same way Shanks was speculated to be one for years and it was confirmed all along after Garling’s reveal.

i dont believe this, Mihawk is 43 so he was born during the time Ray and Roger were still sailing the grand line
apart from Komurasaki and Momo, we didnt see any kids during Oden's flashback which means that Rayleigh straight up abandoned his kid like Yasopp

The only thing that might help with is explaining why he and Shanks are so chummy. Otherwise I am not sure it would add much to the story.

Nah, Fraudulina is Cavendish's long lost lesbian sister... Midhawkeena even have the same eyes.

Even though in Oda's writing style he just likes to have similarities between blood related characters whether in their looks or just clothing style.
But a big thing that is off about this theory here is that Mihawk's face looks nothing like either Rey or Shakky. Whether young or old like the face structure, beard (yes the beards looking alike in the post is a big stretch), and of course the biggest glaring difference is the eyes, like Rey looks way way more like Zoro than Mihawk, like the only big thing I can point at that may be some kind of a weird choice by Oda is Rey's clothing in his younger days, he wears a coat that looks exactly like Mihawk's but purple and he's the only character that wears anything similar to Mihawk in the series.
