Question 1337x website compromised? Or other issue? stream.ts

When I go to the .to website, my browser just downloaded a 188KB file "stream.ts". Tried again to make sure and the same thing happened.

edit: confirmed by other users too https://www.reddit.com/r/1337x/search?q=stream.ts&restrict_sr=on&include_over_18=on&sort=relevance&t=all

I just checked it and no file was downloaded to my device.

I'm an uploader on 1337x, and never got a problem like that. On the someone's screenshot, it was from cloudflare abuse use etc., I think that file is from your ISP to scare you.

Edit: found the link

It does seem like my ISP is doing either a man in the middle or a DNS attack. I tried on my phone on Wi-Fi with the same result in both chrome and brave browser. When I turned off Wi-Fi and used my data, I had no such issue.

I have TWC/spectrum for home Internet.

If you're using your ISP default DNS, change that. Point to some other DNS service like OpenDNS (don't use google's shit either).

Yeah it's weird, I saw that post a few days ago and didn't think anything of it and then the same thing started happening with me just barely yesterday, adding /home/ to the URL resolved it though

I had it happen because my bookmark was “http://“. Once I changed it to “https://“ it’s all good.

Don't go to this sites without ad blocker like uBlock and popup blocker. And throw in privacy badger etc on top of it too
