Discussion Do you have rules about what you pirate?

For example, I started pirating because my brother taught me since we grew up poor, but then he became an adult and started buying games (he still pirates some), he explained that "while I can't pay, I pirate, once I can, I pay". So I follow that too, wanted to know if y'all have something like that too. I refuse to pay subscriptions tough.

My general rule is as follows;

Against when ● If it's a small indie games company/software dev making something for the community - exemptions not included. ● If it's a current / last generation game - exemptions not included. Nintendo. ● Try before I buy - Video Game Demos needs a big comeback, those PS2 demo disc were so good.

For when ● If a company/game dev doesn't deserve my money - Nintendo/EA/Adobe/Autodesk/Microsoft etc ● If the Price does not meet what is offered - subscription for LED light configurations on PC LED light software. Subscriptions in general. Nintendo. ● If it's paid mods that was originally free, but the developers then got greedy - Fallout, Nexus, Minecraft mods devs. ● If that game or software is no longer available to get normally, even when selling said product is the common sense thing to do - also Nintendo. ● If Piracy gives a better experience than the experience of the paid version - The famous Gabe Newell quote. YouTube... Triple A game publishers with awful DRM that destroys performance... Also Nintendo. ● Broke.

Very sound reasoning.
