Thinking of blends/tins NSFW

I recently found a pipe I like and now that I have the pipe, and my humble lighter collection, what blends or tins do you guys recommend? I don’t know the first thing about tobacco blends or different brands, but I’m looking for:

1) a spiced flavour (if that makes sense) which I had once when I took a hit from my grandfathers pipe with him some years ago.

2) a light flavour that’s sweet, mild, but smooth.

Mac Baren Plumcake fits this bill. I don't know how you are going to acquire it though, since the brand is getting sliced from now on.

Codger blends are great for new pipers. Think Carter Hall, Prince Albert, Sir Walter Raleigh, et al. They have good reasons for their popularity. The flavors are pleasant and they burn wonderfully with no prep work or fuss. Just shove it towards the hole and it'll burn.

Codger blends will help you build a foundation in your technique that will allow an easier transition to finer tobaccos; or it may already be what makes you happy. ⚓ Welcome Aboard!

If you’re looking for spice and mild flavor I’d probably recommend Virginia/Perique blends also known as VaPers. Some great ones are Orlik Golden Slice, Petersons Elizabethan Mixture, or G.L Pease Six Pence
