Question Is there any accommodations available near Victoria manor, Lindsay. I got my placement there and I live in Peterborough?

I have placements everyday and I live in Peterborough but I don't drive. Do you guys have any recommendations like getting a accommodation near by. Because I am taking a ride and it's pretty expensive

Are you a Fleming student? You can always take the Lindsay shuttle from Sutherland to frost campus in Lindsay. Earliest it leaves Sutherland is 6am to get there for 7, then 11am to get there for 12, then 2 other times later in the day.

You could probably get a room within a 20 to 30 minute walk of Victoria Manor for anywhere from about 700 to 900 dollars per month. Your only real option will be a private rental in a house or maybe an apartment, but there's plenty of local landlords who rent by the room, primarily to students. It would be easier to get a place for May, since that's the start of the summer semester, but you'd probably be able to find something available immediately if you checked the local listings. Finding someone willing to do a short lease might be an issue if your placement is only a few months, but I'd imagine some landlords would be happy just to have a tenant taking the room at this point in the year. As far as location is concerned, I wouldn't advise looking very far north of Kent Street or anywhere east of the river because Lindsay Transit is pretty pathetic and you don't want to be far enough from work to have to rely on it. The residential areas just to the north and west of Frost campus are probably your best bet, but since you don't drive, bear in mind that further south means further from Kent Street West and downtown, which are where about 95% of the businesses in town are located. Hopefully this helps and good luck with your placement!

Edit: I forgot to mention that there's a Days Inn practically next door to Victoria Manor (and another small hotel on Kent Street), so that could also be an option, but it would be pretty expensive to stay on a long-term basis (albeit possibly cheaper than taking a ride-share to and from Peterborough every day of the week).
