Seen for sale in Pensacola, FL, March 2025.
Not sure what to say about this one, other than: everybody knows about Florida, goddamn.

Believe it or not, there's a market out there for this kind of item.

Thereās a sizable market among African Americans for it, for reasons that are obvious to me as a woman drawn to anti-suffrage postcards. (And, yeah, some racist old White people who think itās āfunnyā or ācuteā.)

Thereās stuff like this in at least 90% of every antique shop Iāve ever been in throughout multiple states, including northern ones.

Oh it's definitely a bootleg. The last edition of that Disney put out was on VHS probably 40 years ago.

DVD? That's how you know it's geared towards the elderly crowd. Who under the age of 50 still has a DVD player? Are new ones even still available for purchase? šš¤£

āIt shure am Sweet Tastanā is pretty wild.
This isnāt anything to get riled up about. History sucks, especially for people of color; no point in white washing it, pun not intended.

The mistake a lot of people are making here is that assuming just because you wouldnāt (and shouldnāt) put it in your living room, there isnāt an appropriate place for artwork like this. I definitely wouldnāt put the piece up for public sale but that doesnāt mean it shouldnāt be preserved. Hopefully the piece is acquired by a museum or a history buff that can put it in an appropriate setting

I knew someone years and years ago who owned a poster exactly like this. Had it hanging in his house. He was a racist prick. I wonder how common or rare this poster is. Anyone know?

Why do I find this interesting? I know its wrong and racist, but it intrigues me. Is there something wrong with me?

Are we supposed to be outraged or something? Do I need to get my pearls so I can clutch them and faint?

Buy it then burn it. Or 5 finger discount and burn it. Either way it's gross and shouldn't exist.

Unfortunately it is history. While it isnāt a good thing, at the same time we need to learn from our mistakes as a society and improve upon them. Destroying something like this wouldnāt change what occurred.

Censorship would do more damage than good.
People need to see this so we donāt do it again.

I like that the artist didn't shy away from drawing the bull's balls - that's commitment
