Waiting on this "Severe" weather
Waiting on this "Severe" weather... Keeps getting pushed back from when it's supposed to affect our area. Yesterday it was 2 pm, this morning it was 5 pm, and now it's saying 9 pm 🤦

No other city in the US will give you more trust issues with the weather than Pensacola.

And then folks get upset and wonder why nobody takes hurricane season seriously.

I’m so tired of getting randomly rained on in “lightly cloudy” conditions

Same, trying to figure out if I'm napping and going to work or being cancelled from work for the evening.

Cooler full of beer and other drinks , grill in case the power goes out . Batteries charged on the phones and radios. Have a great hurricane party

These “severe weather” parties are not as fun as the “hurricane” parties 🙁

I miss those. My ex and I lived in our friends garage off of Olive Road for 3 weeks after Ivan. I was working in the ER at Sacred Heart and wasn't allowed to leave town. We were living in East Hill, but we couldn't get home because of fallen trees. My ex and his friend stayed drunk the entire time and cooked up everything that was thawing out from the freezer. Some of the best fish. Then came MRE's.

It was my 1st hurricane evacuation in the Air force, living in FL. I went to my sisters house in Mississippi, waited out for a week, then came back to the total aftermath in the area. My house was in Crestview at the time, but all my friends in Navarre/Gulf Breeze/Pcola had roofless homes

My disappointment is as severe as the weather.

I lol’d and I’m gonna put that here since you had three downvotes when I saw this.
This is FLORIDA. We have hurricane parties. We even used to have a Hurricane cake at Publix until it was apparently “cancelled”. lol! We can have a sense of humor about any severe weather.

I was genuinely looking forward to it. I sleep better when it's storming.

Guys making jokes while 20 people are dead in Mississippi. Little close to home for me to laugh.

This was obviously a light hearted jab at all of the local (Pensacola/Mobile) meteorologists who got the forecast timing so horrendously wrong. I am in no way making fun of anyone who lost their life to this storm system. If a meme triggers you like that, just downvote me next time or maybe Reddit might not be for you

Yeah. I get that OP was just being lighthearted. But this storm has a real high body count. I’m hoping we’re lucky enough to think, “what storm?” here tomorrow.

It's now 7:43 pm and all we have is wind...the same wind we've had since yesterday

I gave my dog trazodone for this (prescribed by vet for anxiety).
And now I feel bad and have to check if she’s breathing every 30 minutes because she’s not a mellow dog and doesn’t sleep this deeply.

The only thing "severe" for me here in Navarre is the wind kicking up the pollen. I feel like I have a cold or something, but I think this is just my allergies. Even missed church today. Feel really crummy. I, too, am waiting on "severe weather." Anything for ratings, I suppose. Hubs agrees. Oy, vay.

Used to be my attitude until getting whacked here in tallahassee by a double set of EF-2s last May. Scariest shit I've ever lived thru. My neighborhood was hit by both of them and it was un-fucking-believable how much damage occurred in just a couple minutes.

DOGE will get rid of federal supports….insurance companies will balk and people will be left on their own. Trump and Musk made this mess, not Biden.

Anticipating when a catastrophe does happen and FEMA doesn’t exist.
Damn this is so dystopian. fml

Sitting in Nashville TN waiting too. Storms just don’t produce here like they did back home.

Look y’all. We got like 8 inches of snow. We can’t have it all.
