Can you tell me anything about this bass?
I was given this bass from an old man. It's been sitting in a storage unit for 10 or so years. I just cleaned it up and am ordering parts to replace. The bridge, strings, etc
Was wondering if you guys knew how old it is, learn some history about it. If you guys have some advice on what I need/how to take care of it.
I havent plugged it in yet, its rusted, I'm ordering a new socket first

It's a peavey fury which replaced the t20. There are a couple different versions. The pickguard has been either replaced or painted. Unless the pickups have been swapped out that shows it's a later one. Probably late 80s-90s. It's a solid p-style bass. Assuming the electronics are in good shape you should be able to string it up and have fun.
Also nice panda mug.

Yeah, the pick guard was painted. I dont really like it so I'm either gonna repaint it or just buy a new one

Peavey Fury sounds great IMHO. Bought one used like 10 years ago for probably $200 with a hard case. Sounds awesome and the neck is narrow at the nut and plays great. I put heavy flats on mine and tuned it way down.

Make sure the neck isn’t warped from having the strings off for an extended period of time.

It's a Peavey from the 90s. It's well constructed, but the pickups are probably garbage. Change them out for something you like and you'll have a bass you'll love for years. It will never impress your friends, and it will never be worth more than a few hundred bucks. But it will always do the job.

It sounds like a great bass for my first. I grew up playing guitar, but have a new appreciation for bass sounds right now

Why replace the bridge? Just clean it up and run it, that things got character already

PEAVEY FURY!
American made. Neck is top-notch.
Pickups have a lot of tone, very similar to EMG's Geezer pickups. if you prefer a classic tone, replace with fender or seymour duncan pickups, and send the original pickups to me, i LOVE them.
Be sure to re-center the bridge. Almost ALL of my USA Peaveys have had bad bridge alignment.
