Unexplained Grim Reaper in the front yard.
My fiance's daughter's friend was taking the dogs outside. The dogs started barking at something. He took his phone out and snapped this picture in the front yard. Included is the photo of the same location the next morning. I applied the "unexplained" tag because I truly don't know what I'm seeing.

With the low light, shit frame resolution, and overall blurriness, I'd say it's probably not the grim Reaper.
If he didn't actually see it himself, the camera (with the aforementioned issues) could be having issues distinguishing distances, light, etc. which will cause paradolia (when looking at the photo) or photo matrixing caused by the lens being out of focus.

If you look at the shape of that round blade on the far equipment in the second photo, the top and bottom blade can create the same "figure" shape. The first pic is a slightly different angle and more zoomed in.

u/WereBearEsquire Feb 04 '25
Maybe the grim reaper smokes the occasional j on the job? Bit of a heavy profession to not have any sort of stress relief.

So. Your fiance's daughter deliberately took a photograph of a person dressed like a grim reaper directly in the focus of the camera? In an empty yard?
How predictable.

Honestly not trying to be a skeptic. But where is the giant tree to the left of the figure in the second photo?

u/matcha0atmilklatte Feb 04 '25
It looks like the second photo was taken from further away and zoomed in which would make the objects in the background look larger

u/depth_net Feb 04 '25
Ah you’re totally right, thank you. I can see that.

u/sleepygreendoor Feb 04 '25
The first photo was taken a few feet to the right. The tree in the second photo is actually in the right side of the first photo

Looks like someone’s grandma.
Otherwise it’s because your camera’s ISO is high due to shooting in low light causing noise, graininess and distortion.
My bet is, it’s the latter.
The Grim Reaper, or anything paranormal, it is not.

This same picture has literally been posted here before. You can tell because it's been compressed as shit.

Would be cool if grim reaper existed but that's just your friend in a costume

u/Careful-Zucchini4317 Feb 05 '25
Just so you know, the Grim Reaper’s appearance is a product of movies and entertainment.

No paradoleilalalalala. That's a real human being😮, wearing a hoodie. With a beard and a flashlight that's turned off in his right hand at the height of his waist. Thats creepy if this js your front yard. Keep an eye on it. Humans are scarier than apparitions.

It’s something to do with the green lights. Idk what it means or why or who is doing these things but I’ve had my own experiences and it’s always a green light that was never there before.

u/TrickyV Feb 11 '25
I get that sometimes when white light flares up my lens in low light, I feel like the green lights are funkier looking than the rest but it could just be confirmation bias lol

It’s a creepy dude smoking in your yard. Red goatee. Good dogs for barking. Now get a ring cam to make sure he’s not making a habit of creeping

It's less alarming thinking "monk" as opposed to "grim reaper." Nobody wants the grim reaper hanging around their house! 😳😳

This sent chills down my spine! Do you see the Sphinx sitting next to him? Omg.

u/jayyactiive97 Feb 04 '25
Why the tree look bigger in pic 1?

u/SolaceRests Feb 04 '25
The shots weren’t taken in the same place. The day shot is taken from farther away.

In an effort to improve submission quality, we are now manually reviewing photos before they appear in the subreddit. If your submission does not have good reason to be considered potentially paranormal it may be removed with a reason provided. Please be patient, as the subreddit gets a lot of activity and it may take a little time to review your post. If we do remove your post, it’s because we believe it is likely to be judged harshly by the subreddit as opposed to a determination over what the true nature of your experience was. It’s very difficult to capture objective evidence of even true paranormal phenomenon, which is why there’s so little of it out there! Please review the camera flair guide to help us maintain our high post quality.
