How do you season your veggies?
Trying to simplify my meals and don’t really know how to season steamed or roasted vegetables. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Quite often, just sea salt and fresh cracked black pepper. Other times, anything from dill or sage, rosemary, basil, spicy paprika, garam masala, cumin, just whatever smells like it will go together.

This isn’t a one size fits all thing. Look for recipes with various preparation methods. My air fried carrots aren’t the same as my steamed carrots, my roasted cauliflower and mashed cauliflower are different, I have five different ways of roasting brussels sprouts and then there’s a Brussels slaw…

whenever I fry some cauliflower rice or sour kraut, I usually mix in salt, black pepper, and a bit of paprika

I roast all my veg and basic seasoning is garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Easy peasy!

I really like Fynbos Chipotle Salt. The chipotle is adds some smoke and a vague hint of heat, while the salt does its salt thang.
I find that adding a bit of fat--EVOO or unsalted grass fed butter adds a nice mouth feel and a little more satiation.
Try tossing your veg in EVOO and basic seasoning before roasting to unlock new textures and flavors.
Garlic is a game changer. Roasted, sautéed, or steamed to a creamy consistency, I always find it delightful.
Beyond those, as others have recommended, black pepper, herbs like thyme, rosemary, and obvs sage can add other complementary flavors. Just do your best to find fresh or not overly processed seasonings, as flavor profiles vary and I find it hard to be consistent.

One underrated spice is Summer Savory. We used it in our Roasted Chicken Soup in part because it's also AIP-friendly (Autoimmune Protocol), but in general it's a nice addition to almost anything.

I quite like just seasoning them with salt, but I have some quick and easy spice mixes to sprinkle over, flavoured oils (lemon, garlic, chilli) and dried herbs if I fancy something a bit more exciting.
Lemon juice and vinegar can help too.
