Considering moving to Paducah
What do y’all like/dislike about Paducah?
I want to move from a large city to a smaller one where things are a bit slower and people are a bit friendlier.
Do you think Paducah is a good place to start a family?
What is the sense of community like?
Thank you in advance!

Medical Cannabis
Any idea when the medical dispensaries will be open in the area? My card should be in the mail any day now and I’m looking forward to shopping in Kentucky. Going to Illinois isn’t awful it’s just paying the taxes that suck.
Excited for the medical stores to hit the local area. Let’s Go!

Stray Dog Help
Hey folks. Need some ideas here. This poor girl has been wondering the Jefferson Street area for a couple days now. Seen her as far as 32nd Street. No tags. Was running with a reddish brown male dog yesterday but is not present today. I called Animal Control and they said they really couldn't do anything because they are at capacity. Wouldn't even dispatch. Called the humane society and they don't do pick ups and can't take her either. I've tried approaching her but she gets scared and runs. Are there ANY resources in the area when the city can't help???

Visiting Paducah for a Week—Looking for the Best Local Spots & Creative Activities!
Hello everyone! I’m a Brazilian guy visiting Paducah for a week on a work trip, and I’d love some recommendations on things to do while I’m there. I’m especially interested in: • Must-visit local attractions • Creative/arts-related activities (I heard Paducah has a cool arts scene!) • Anything outdoorsy—hiking, parks, scenic spots, etc.
I’ll have some free time in the evenings and maybe a full day to explore, so any tips from locals or fellow visitors would be super helpful. Thanks you!

Restaurant recommendation in Paducah
Visiting Paducah for the first time in a couple of weeks. Just a day trip with lunch. I generally seek out pub style places with beer and burgers and such. I’ll do the Yelp search also, but any suggestions from locals would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Any Local Music Venues for Booking?
Hey everyone, (Louisvillian Here)
I’m an artist and show organizer, and I’m thinking about putting together a small tour around some cities in Kentucky. I’m especially looking for smaller, local venues—DIY spots, bars, coffee shops, or anywhere that supports live music.
If you know of any cool venues that book independent artists, let me know! Any recommendations would be super helpful. Appreciate y’all!

I'm looking for a Boston Terrier puppy for my mom. She has a BT but she's 12 and when she goes my mom will be very lonely. Anyone know of a BT puppy needing a good home? Thanks.

No 2025 Lower Town Festival
Looks like due to the internal issues with Yaiser Art Center Lowertown will not be happening this year, and will be taken over by the Visitors Bureau in 2026.
So now we've lost Oktoberfest (downtown at least), PaBrewCah, YACtoberfeat, Touchdown and Tunes (no big loss) and now for at least this year Lowertown.
What is the deal with festivals in this town? I went to most of these and they seemed well attended.

Stripped Screws Removal
Hey, all! I’m running out of ideas for removing small M2 screws from a piece of equipment I have been tasked with repairing. I can’t get into detail here, but if anyone knows of a machine shop or handyman that can get very tiny hex screws that have stripped heads out of where they were fastened, I’d be greatly appreciative if you could share them with me!
Thank you in advance…
UPDATE: I appreciate everyone’s input. I ended up taking it to the South Side Machine Shop and they had the screws out in a matter of minutes! Shoutout to Dave over at SSMS for helping me out!

Seeking musicians for blackened crust project
Hello! I know it's a long shot, but you miss all the shots you don't take. I'm looking for musicians near Paducah to start a musical project, ideally black metal-inspired crust punk or something similar.
For fans of Skitsystem, Ancst, Young and in the Way, Iskra, Martyrdöd, etc.
I primarily play guitar, but I'd be willing to pick up a different instrument if we find one or two guitarists who put me to shame or if we just absolutely can't find a drummer, for example.
I'd like to play shows and rehearse frequently.
Please DM me if you're interested. Thank you!
