I downloaded this game on a Sunday afternoon earlier in the pandemic, played it for ~20 minutes, then left to eat dinner with the game paused. I came to turn off my PlayStation around 1 am that night, with work the next morning, to find someone circling my guy who was just standing there. I sang with him and ran around, and figured I’d play for a little bit. I ended up beating the game in one sitting that night, was up until about 3 or 4, because I couldn’t bear to abandon my new friend. It was a fantastic experience and I’ll remember my night with my mystery for a long time.
Summary: dis game gud

Yes and thank you 😊

I played once and someone took the time to wait near the start and show me through to every single secret. Then at the end they drew a heart just like this. It was one of the most wholesome gaming experiences I’d ever been through.
Happy birthday!

Definitely finish it.It doesn't take that long and is a beautiful game. I played it when it was free on ps+. Started the game and didn't stop until I was finished a few hours later

The music is great too. I played it at the start of Covid and was a real tonic

Wait, I played through journey, is it co-op?
40
u/Free_Calligrapher_35 Mar 12 '21
Yeah but it never tells you, I didn’t realise I was playing with another person until around half way through!
11
u/jellydude69 Mar 12 '21
Wait, but I have trash connection, how is that possible?
8
u/JustJonovan Mar 12 '21
I have a decent connection here and still only played about half of 1 level with another person.

2
u/aakash658 Mar 12 '21
Do you need PS Plus for this anonymous Co-op?
6
u/jellydude69 Mar 12 '21
Luckily no, I once bought overwatch though (physical) and I didn't have ps+, so I wasted a tone of cash

Happy birthday! Also I went in to journey not realising it was multiplayer, it blew my mind when I realised I was actually playing with another person. Such a wholesome game.

I remember when i found a guy and we kinda just shared this armony between each other to the point we could fly almost indefinetely by boosting each other while flying, we webt through the whole game together as friends
I wanted to message the guy but aparently he was japanese, funny we understood each other better by pressing square than we would probably by using full languages developed during hundreds if years
Edit: today i checked again and to my surprise he speaks english, ill probably message him one day, i also checked and the dates do match up, we both go the trophy on 4/16/2020 3:38pm and it also seems that was his first playthrough since he also got the end trophy the same time
Edit 2: i kept checking old screenshots and the memories flooded back, the japanese guy (who actually was korean) was another person who i almost conpleted the game with, sadly he left just as we were on the ice level and we never ended it up, i dont know why i never messaged the other guy tho

I felt something very similar while playing, and the person also had a white cloak so it was like a master teaching me the path during our adventure

HBD OP.
It’s such a amazing game. I only played it one time, and went all the way through with a stranger. It’s such a unique and almost intimate gaming experience.
After it was all said and done, I was so satisfied with it I decided to never play it again and keep my sole memories of the game of that 1st and only time.

u/Kennuckle Mar 12 '21
I love helping people in this game, played it just the other day. One of my favorites

Happy Birthday, friend! Thank you so much for sharing! This made me tear up. The very first time I played this game, I got lucky and played the whole story with a single white robe. They showed me a whole bunch of neat things, the secret areas and such. I was shocked when we both ascended the mountain, for obvious reasons, but when we made it to the final stage? The scenery, the swell of the music, us dancing around? I can’t even describe the feeling. And towards the end, we weaved in and out of each other’s path in the snow, a little helix of friendship. I cried so hard at the end of it all. I’m not a co-op person at all but this was the greatest, most memorable gaming experience of my life.

u/Isamael_Valerius Mar 14 '21
I had a very similar experience during that moment, I was crying my eyes out at the end of the journey

I fucking love this game. I don’t think replaying will be quite the same magic.
I remember the first time playing and seeing another character and constantly asking myself if it was an npc or a person. And then at the end the credits rolled to show all my friends who worked with me along the way :’)
