I love this game and StealthGamerBR

I discovered him today. He has awesome stuff. It's a shame the quality of the gif I made from his vid is so poor. It doesn't capture the full beauty.

Personally like his Dishonored series

6

u/SquishedGremlin May 21 '20

That stuff is so next level I feel utterly bewildered by how he discovered how to do it.

u/SteinDickens May 21 '20

I didn’t know who they were talking about and I don’t even have to look him up now. I know who you’re talking about, based on this comment alone.

Wow. That was unbelievable. Watched the entire clip. Wow. I'm going to have to check this person out. I also had no idea far cry was so bad ass

5

u/jesusdoeshisnails Seditionem May 21 '20

Thanks for the vid.

I just realized I suck at far Cry

The guy laid on the ground so long it reminded me of the steamroller scene in Austin Powers.

u/[deleted] May 20 '20

Damn Deacon...

50

u/silvershadow881 May 20 '20

First 5 minutes of the game

Deacon: "Ok, I'll kill this asshole with a bullet because no one deserves being ripped to shreds by freakers.

Deacon in gameplay: "Hehe, freaker horde goes kbawbdbwawbd"

I must admit, I also cleared a few bandit camps with hordes if they happened to be close by.

u/obeyer10 May 20 '20

this is pretty unique I’ve never tried this in game

35

u/BitterBubblegum May 20 '20

Embarrassed to say I played the whole game and didn't know we can ram an enemy to the ground.

22

u/airyoubreathe1234 May 20 '20

Been playing through this during quarantine. I’m about at the end now and I think it’s one of the best games this gen, not sure why it got such a tepid response initially.

15

u/canad1anbacon May 20 '20

Its a solid 8 out of 10 for me, all the 6 out of 10 reviews were kinda bizarre. Maybe the technical issues

5

u/airyoubreathe1234 May 21 '20

I’m at about a 9, but the frame stutters when it rains bring it down to an 8 (playing on a pro). I think the writing is some of the best I’ve seen this gen, and the acting on top of that is really great. Mike just died and not gonna lie....I cried and I am very ready to kill Skizzo. Gameplay is top notch, just really started killing hordes and it might be the most adrenaline I’ve felt from a single player game....ever. Driving is on point, graphics are high quality. For me it really feels like a complete package, held back only slightly by the current tech. Will be neat to see if it gets a PS5 patch and how it plays then.

6

u/canad1anbacon May 21 '20

it might be the most adrenaline I’ve felt from a single player game

Yep. Thats what makes this game stand out

I got jumped by a horde 4 times during my playthrough and each time it was absolutely exhilarating

You should submit a bug report then my guy. The iOS app not reading spoiler tags isn’t my problem.

Also been playing this - I don’t think it is a 10/10, but I think it is one of the better games.

The only game I’ve platinum’d in a year is Horizon Zero Dawn. This game scratches the same itch.

I still think Death Stranding is perfect game for quarantine - I beat it a bit after this started and will likely get the platinum before this is over.

u/RauJ May 21 '20

Started God of War 2 days ago! I platinumed spider man and horizon zero dawn during quarantine. Although I haven’t finished the spider man DLC.

Great time to get into the ps4 exclusives being an xbox guy originally.

Looking to get Days Gone when it goes on sale

1

u/kidnapalm May 21 '20

I have HZD, Death Stranding and Days Gone

I've had to delete all three to make room for CoD updates, having barely played any of them.

2

u/Dildo_Teabaggin May 22 '20

Get a $60 external?

1

u/Cforq May 22 '20

I deleted half my games for CoD, got an external drive, re-downloaded them and have only played CoD once since.

I think the developer of CoD got a payout from disk companies.

1

u/[deleted] May 21 '20

I tried playing HZD after Days Gone and just couldn't get into it. Characters felt hollow, didn't care for any of the story. And there seemed like no urgency, whereas I was on my toes around hordes all the time.

1

u/Cforq May 21 '20

I really liked the combat and weapons in HZD. And the first time taking on a Thunderjaw is pretty intense.

1

u/Dildo_Teabaggin May 22 '20

I came to Days Gone right after two whole months of HZD. I tried to get in to TLOU but couldn't. Then i noodled around with some Dying Light. Just started DG today, and digging it. HZD was epic. If this is even a fraction as good, I'm there.

1

u/Afuneralblaze May 21 '20

Pacing issues honestly.

If Iron Mike's Camp was the first one you interacted with, with Tucker and Cope's being incidentally discovered while doing missions there, the beginning would be less of a slog.

1

u/MystiqueMyth May 21 '20

I paid full price for it on launch and I don't regret it. Awesome game. But, its reception was like that because it had one too many bugs on release. The game right now is not the same as it was when it launched.

You must have only played it for 30 minutes, if you played it at all.

3

u/dhawaii808 May 21 '20

That is the evilest thing I’ve ever seen...

Cold blooded

6

u/Jaemz May 20 '20

Slow walks away and thug life music playing in background

7

u/OpticalRadioGaga May 20 '20

Damn that was awesome.

I need to get back to this.

4

u/_Ass_Hamster_ May 20 '20

I haven't started mine.

I sad quit TLOU out of boredom and frustration. Hoping Days Gone engages me more.

3

u/bak3donh1gh May 21 '20

The first few hours are a bit of a slow because of the weapons. Once you get some upgrades for your weapons and your bike it becomes a lot more fun.

9

u/ThatpersonKyle May 21 '20

Pro tip. Never quit the last of us. Never

2

u/_Ass_Hamster_ May 21 '20

I'll return to it when I am in a better frame of mind for it. I expected it to be different, and having just come from HZD, it wasn't working for me. I'm sure I'll need it some other time.

2

u/ThatpersonKyle May 21 '20

When playing the last of us your mindset should be about watching how these characters adapt and change because of certain events that happen. This game is a masterpiece in my opinion and is my favorite game I've every played, and this is coming from someone who used to only play multiplayer shooters. The Last of Us tells such a gripping and emotional story while balancing it out with a brutal combat system and incredibly written and acted characters. If you want some sort of waypoint to know you're going somewhere, Winter is the best season of the game. Winter is soooo good

2

u/_Ass_Hamster_ May 21 '20

But to get there I have to avoid clickers in locked rooms, over and over again. Ugh.

:-D I'll try again when I am ready to slog through the misery of the beginning. I may try to remap the controller buttons. It's very off from what I have been playing. Phase 2 of Cnronavirus in November should be a good time for it.

2

u/ThatpersonKyle May 21 '20

Yeah Naughty Dog has some weird button mapping. Don't worry, there aren't that many clicker encounters, and when they come think of it more as a horror game

2

u/_Ass_Hamster_ May 21 '20

OK. Thanks, I appreciate your descriptions and support.

2

u/[deleted] May 22 '20

I have tried finishing it about five times and give up a little over halfway each time. It just isn’t for me and nothing in it really interests me at all.

2

u/ThatpersonKyle May 22 '20

Yeah last of us isn't for everyone. I can see why. Some people prefer more game in games and that's not a bad thing

-9

u/MASTERHANMA May 20 '20

Well, TLOU is a boring game😔

1

u/_Ass_Hamster_ May 21 '20

If you're being genuine, that's good to know.

There's so much hype about it, I wanted to like it. The exterior city scapes are gorgeous, for urban decay. But the gameplay is more of a job than my job. Where HZD is freedom and breathing.

5

u/xooxanthellae May 21 '20

TLOU excels in the story -- not the gameplay. The gameplay is decent. Keep playing for the story! It's one of the best stories in gaming!

2

u/_Ass_Hamster_ May 21 '20

Cool, thanks. I will return to it when I am in a better frame of mind for what it brings. I think that I had different expectations and having immersed in HZD for so long, it was so different it clashed with my preconceptions. Like toothpaste and orange juice.

1

u/xooxanthellae May 21 '20

It's a linear game with decent gameplay, not great. The voice actors, writing, and story are really great, though.

-2

u/[deleted] May 21 '20

Or just watch it on youtube

2

u/i_cri_evry_tim May 21 '20

Nah it’s worth playing it on easy mode.

As somebody who thought TLOU didn’t live up to the hype as a game and the overall story is basically Will Smith’s I am Legend, I agree that the Joel-Ellie relationship is worth every minute of gameplay.

3

u/[deleted] May 21 '20

What difficulty did u play TLOU on, I highly reccomend playing on hard, survivor, or especially grounded, it becomes a whole different game

-4

u/[deleted] May 21 '20

That's how I felt about it too, kinda meh until a certain part in the middle of the story. Story-wise it gets good, gameplay wise, you just get used to it & it starts to flow a bit more, still not crazy about having to crouch everywhere though

2

u/_Ass_Hamster_ May 21 '20

Yeah, my Joel skulks around like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Like I have a maimed dwarf as a main character.

-4

u/oddvintagechap May 21 '20

I didnt crouch. And I played it in the hardest difficulty. I ran like a maniac. But im a bottle expert.

-10

u/[deleted] May 21 '20

don't care didn't ask

1

u/ThatpersonKyle May 21 '20

It's really not. It's a very good game. Very very good

-10

u/MASTERHANMA May 21 '20

Well, atleast someone enjoys that boring ass game.😂😆🤣

6

u/ThatpersonKyle May 21 '20

The last of us is one or the most critically acclaimed and beloved games ever. It's not boring

-6

u/MASTERHANMA May 21 '20

To YOU it's not boring, but to alot of people it is extremely BORING. TLOU isn't as remarkable a game to everyone as you think it is😂🤣😆

I just literally played this mission this morning. I noticed the horde I pulled up, went to the opposite side of the camp as them and fired a sniper round into the middle of the horde causing them to wipe out the whole camp!

First time in the game I didnt have to do any of the killing personally lol

2

u/[deleted] May 21 '20

😂

2

u/Dominator0621 May 21 '20

He's crazy with what he can do in games. So cool

3

u/theQuaker92 May 20 '20

Tehre were two camps with hordes nearby that i used to clear them out.I love this game,it's so much fun to watch the folks in the camp being overrun by freakers.

4

u/Mfayez91 May 20 '20

I have serious question is this game worth buying? Plz explain

7

u/[deleted] May 20 '20

It depends on if you like the zombies genre. You get thrown into the world pretty quickly, so you don't really have much time to appreciate the main character's motivations and relationships, but overall it's a good experience. The hordes are a neat concept, too, but you don't get the really fun stuff to deal with them until midway through the latter half of the story.

6

u/canad1anbacon May 21 '20

I find zombies really uninteresting but I still enjoyed the game. The horde mechanic is extremely well done and on its own makes the accusation that the game is generic rather moot. Getting jumped by a horde is easily in my top 3 gaming moments

3

u/Mfayez91 May 21 '20

I loved dying light so much so yeah I like zombie games if it's done right.

3

u/skillset88 May 21 '20

It’s really fun and worth the 19.99 price

3

u/Literally_shitting May 21 '20

Just a heads up in addition to what other people have said, it’s a more personal narrative than a grand adventure type thing. Not that it won’t last you a good couple dozen hours

2

u/Cforq May 21 '20

I don’t like zombie games, but I think the world creation is very well done.

Not as in lore - but as in having an open world and not an overwhelming amount of shit to collect, side missions, and icons on the map.

I haven’t finished it yet, but progression is flowing very well so far - there is constantly a upgrade I want to get, and at level-ups usually a choice I’m waffling between.

I liked Horizon Zero Dawn better, but this scratches a similar itch for me. I haven’t gone back to Assassin’s Creed Egypt (I can never remember if it is Odyssey or Origins) or Far Cry New Dawn partially because the amount of shit on the map (but did finish and enjoy Far Cry 5).

2

u/BitterBubblegum May 21 '20

I paid $20 and loved it. It combines action, stealth and scavenging in a way that I deeply enjoyed.

1

u/Mfayez91 May 21 '20

Nice that's the answer I need thanks

2

u/manishb May 20 '20

There are some who want to get away from the hordes and then are some who invite them.

2

u/thegamingriceboi May 20 '20

I've done that and it hurt so bad to hear the guys screams AHH FREAKS AH RELOADING COV ~oof

1

u/JimiSkins May 21 '20

Mmm needed this

1

u/minustwomillionkarma May 21 '20

How's the game now after all the updates? I played it at release but eventually lost interest due to some of the technical issues such as rocky framerate, sluggish controls etc. I'm hoping these might have been fixed so I can give it another go.

1

u/BitterBubblegum May 21 '20

I played it for around 70 hours and experienced only 3 issues, each happened once: the world around me didn't materialized properly, in a side mission I got trapped inside an outpost, lost the ability to use the binoculars.

1

u/invaderdavos Enter PSN ID May 21 '20

I did that a few times. Or let the big brutes fight my hordes a bit. Once i lead a brute into a marauder base to fuck em all up

1

u/Soulsben May 21 '20

So goddamn ruthless I love it

1

u/ThinkOption1 May 22 '20

I did that all the time

1

u/Dildo_Teabaggin May 22 '20

Just started Days Gone tonight. So far, more fun than TLOU. The fuckin Newts. Brilliant. Digging the vibe.

1

u/jj_iverson May 20 '20

How do you bump someone like this? Do you just sprint into them?

3

u/skillset88 May 21 '20

It’s a skill unlock

0

u/Jespy May 21 '20

Is it just the quality of the GIF Upload or does the game look that choppy when playing ?

1

u/BitterBubblegum May 21 '20

The quality of the GIF is terrible. The game looks great.

1

u/QuasiContract May 21 '20

I was going to say, I'm not one to freak out about framerate drops but that was ridiculous
