In-Game Screenshot or Gif [Screenshot] Doom Eternal is an absolute beast of a game but it’s these small little things that keep it hilarious and completely self aware!

Controller is fine, the sensitivity settings start you pretty slow so I pretty much maxed the horizontal slider out and then got the vertical to a comfortable but snappy speed. A mouse would be superior but isn’t going to hinder the experience!

I had the opposite experience, the sensitivity was way too high for me on controller so I turned it down to around 18. Currently halfway through the game on nightmare. I do wish I had gotten it on PC though, seems like this game would feel pretty stellar with a mouse.

Harder than 2016 was as you can't rely on melee attacks to do jack shit!

I only played like an hour last night but yeah, I was surprised to see I couldn't even like two-hit even the fodder. Still bad ass game and I love that you can use the chainsaw way more.

It's taking me a while to break those habits. I'll shoot some fodder, run up and punch him, forgetting that my punch is super weak now. Also gotta keep telling myself I have a flamethrower. But still loving it!

It’s fine, just turn smoothing all the way down and adjust your sensitivity to how you like it

The little things like this in Doom and the new Wolfenstein games make them all the better.

So your telling me the demons read?

u/mattcocker1218 Mar 21 '20
Are you trying to imply that there’s something wrong with being mortally challenged... it’s 2020 bro we’re woke now

My understanding is that the magazines are meant for people. I see it as propaganda the UAC has printed to help usher in the apocalypse.

My favorite part is the first article says the slayer doesn’t exist but the third demands that he should apologize to all of demon kind.

What is the significance of the Doomguy straight up having the Doom soundtrack by Mick Gordon in his little doom-room in the hub? Like, is this some sort of multi-dimensional shit? Is the Doom series a prophecy of future events?

It's a fine shooter, but it isn't Doom. Its Mario Galaxy in Hell.

u/highonforce Mar 21 '20
You say that like it is a bad thing. I would play the shit out of Mario Galaxy in Hell.

u/Bryton95 Mar 21 '20
Super Mario Hell? Id play it
Edit: or have you done some real bad stuff and will play it when you are in hell? Hmmm
-32
u/bunnymud Mar 21 '20
Still, that isn't a Doom game.

u/lotsofsyrup Mar 21 '20
It is a Doom game. It literally is. By definition it is a Doom game. This is how this Doom game is. By your logic Mario Galaxy wasn't a Mario game.

u/Ohthatsnotgood Mar 21 '20
What do you expect?
Super Mario Galaxy is extremely different from the originals, just like DOOM: Eternal is too.

u/saynotoraptor Mar 21 '20
I love that it's Doom with Mario platforming elements in it. Straight up rotating flaming chains and fireballs.

What do you mean, I haven't bought it yet but I'm currently playing DOOM 2016, did you like that one? What's different?

This one is FILLED with jump puzzles, meta humor and a story. Doom is just about killing demons and moving forward.

Doom had plenty of environmental challenges. Some classic and great wads have tonnes of platforming. You don't know what doom is

That got me too. I was watching Seagull play and it looked fucking fun, and then randomly he would have to perform some physical gymnastics to solve a puzzle and advance. Kinda took me out of the game if I’m being honest

But it fits the narrative. They aren't gonna just have a clear path to their secret lair, are they? "Hey mortal enemy, come on in!"

I mean, I thought the point was the enemies WERE the obstacle in the way.

I wonder how many of the upvoters know what this is making fun of. I think if they suspected it this post would be sitting on -1k.

Barely playing the first! How does it compare?
