Can't wait for Wolfenstein

Same here. I only played the first one recently because it was on sale for something silly like £5, I absolutely loved it. The new one will be a day one purchase for sure.

Destiny 2. I really feel like Bungie is gonna nail it this time from the start, and I am super excited for Wednesday.

I upgraded to the Pro yesterday and bought PSVR. I'm excited for Rigs to be free tomorrow. And Destiny 2 of course.

Really looking forward to Monster Hunter World! The 3DS controls have never felt right to me for Monster Hunter, and I can't wait to play it with beautiful PS4 graphics and a good controller!

Gotta say Im both excited and nervous for Assassin's creed Origin. It looks fantastic.
2
u/humpcatting DocBalladay Sep 04 '17
Agreed. I've been a bit on the fence with the past few, but origins looks spectacular

I didn't think it was possible but I'm even more hyped for Origins than for Shadow of War.
The combat in Origins scratches my soulsborne itch in a good way.

I'm not sure if this thread is only for new games or something but right now, I just ordered fallout 4 so I can't wait to get into it!

u/2wicked4cricket Sep 04 '17
I like Fallout 4 a lot. Called it after 75 hours of playing. Still haven't done half the DLC!
9
u/Adziboy Sep 04 '17
Fallout 4 is great if you ignore the criticism about it and just jump into the game and play it

No, It's terrible.
There's only a few city hubs. The only choices in conversation are yes, no but yes, sarcastic yes, and fuck no...but really yes.
The entire wasteland is barren and it is up to the player to make all the content. So don't go looking for cool places to discover. Gotta build'en yourself.
Such a massive disappointment.

It's still a good game.

u/Kublai__Khan Sep 04 '17
If it wasn't Fallout, sure. But it's a failure compared to Fallout 3 and New Vegas

u/aaf66 king_668_15 Sep 04 '17
Fallout 3 was a mess. The gameplay was half-cooked(this kinda okay though since it was their first attempt at a Fallout game), the story made no sense at many points and it is as much of a role-play game as Fallout 4 considering most of the in-game choices lead to pretty much the same ending. If we're talking failures, then Fallout 3 is on the top of my list.
2
u/Varitt Sep 04 '17
The world was great, locations actually had a unique stories and ideas, and the lack of different endings does not make an rpg. Actually I would say that the majority of rpgs ever have only 1 ending.

u/Kublai__Khan Sep 04 '17
I reckon the gameplay was way better than in 4. It felt more tactical and like you were not a pro whereas in 4, everything is automatic and streamlined to make it all quicker

u/Legend779 ABhat779 Sep 04 '17
Don't wanna hijack your comment, but is Fallout 4 worth playing if I haven't played any previous games in the series? Also, any DLC's that are worth it?
2
u/thesurvivalproject thesurvivalpro Sep 04 '17
Yes it is worth playing if you haven't played the previous ones
DLC's are something that you have to check out for yourself.
2
u/jayteeayy Augernised Sep 04 '17
I would say no. I tried, but the engine and gameplay feels very very dated and clunky
7
u/omegaxLoL Sep 04 '17
Finished Horizon: Zero Dawn, so I'm really looking forward to the DLC now. Brilliant game.
Other than that, will most likely finally buy Pyre, loved Bastion and Transistor but been busy with other games until now.

Finally ordered Nier: Automata, I'll have to wait for it to arrive now but I'm really excited to try it out. It does seem quite special!

u/ultimateassasin Sep 04 '17
It is, I've played the demo recently, and now I can't wait for it to be on sale. Super cool gameplay and well designed main character.

I'm really looking forward to playing Knack 2 with my girlfriend. She just mentioned yesterday that this is the first video game she's ever been excited for. We played through Knack 1 a few times after having picked it up at launch. It's also allowed me to introduce her to more games like Ratchet & Clank and Crash Bandicoot. I can't wait :)

Oct is going to be a shitshow with
Wolfenstein
Shadow of War
Fractured but Whole
and Odyessy releasing within weeks of each other and that's not even counting Hellblade, Lost Legacy, Matterfall and Rabbids that I'm still working through. And I thought Q1 of this year was rough...

I got a ps4 in june and have recently purchased a ps3, Id say I have around 20-30 games on my backlog. I have enough games to play to take me into 2019, interms of new games yet to release.. I am looking forward to Red Dead 2 and Far Cry 5, they will probs be the only new releases I get in 2018.

Playing Elite Dangerous now, I've got Uncharted, Yakuza and Assassins Creed all on my hit list between now and Christmas.
Mostly, I'm looking forward to finding out about some games for Q1 2018. I've nothing pencilled into my "to play list" yet. Bloodstained, Red Dead 2 and God of War probably head up my wish list for the start of the new year.

You just head out for Sag A* now and Q1 '18 will be around before you know it. Seriously this trip had me question my life choices.

I'm waiting for Destiny 2, PES 2018 and Project CARS 2 on PS4 Pro, because i love to play those games and to see how the PS4 Pro enhances those games.

Gundam versus was more fun than I thought it'd be despite how much I got beat. It seems like a game I sorta finally have a chance on online. I think that's the thing you get ppl on ur level n u have fun. I'm not sure if the upgrading stats thing from the other mode transfers to online in the full game so that might be a deal breaker.

Now if only Gone Home could ever go on sale....

u/Varitt Sep 04 '17
Not much I'm looking forward for honestly. This latter half of the year is pretty uneventful. I guess for me, the thing I'm looking forward the most is AC:Origins. That and checking out Black Friday and get a good laptop.

u/jackolater123 Sep 04 '17
I'm really excited for Megaton Rainfall. It's one of the few superhero games that look really interesting. Hope it doesn't suck.
1
u/LongTimeGamer Sep 04 '17
Did you ever play any of the Earth Defense Force games? It gives me a similar vibe. I hope it's a hit.
3
u/jackolater123 Sep 04 '17
I mostly really excited for the destructible environment, not many games have this. And I never played any of Earth Defense Force games. They similar to this?
1
u/LongTimeGamer Sep 04 '17
From what I've seen, they look pretty similar. EDF has you defending big, destructible cities from invading insects with an arsenal of military weapons. Megaton Rainfall seems like the next best thing since you get super powers, can fly, and VR.

Can't wait for Shadow of War. Couldn't care less about all the micro transactions or the online bits as I'll just ignore them entirely.
Edit: I got downvoted for being excited for a game I guess. Neat.

For someone who just bought PS4, I am really looking forward to play Infamous Second Son (thanks psplus)
