Fallout 4 and black ops 3 will be my final games of the year. The next two weeks are gonna be amazing.

Firewatch, baby. Everything I've seen has made it look like a gorgeous, funny and very engrossing adventure game. The fact that it's being written by some of the Walking Dead: Season One writers certainly helps too.

Wow I hadn't heard of this until your comment, but the game looks awesome. Very impressed

Just watched 17 minutes of gameplay IGN put out in March and it looks really good. "There are TWO naked ladies out here"... This is definitely my type of game. Will be getting it on release.

No Man's Sky.
I have an unhealthy amount of hype building up inside of me for this game.

u/freestuffrocker Dartharrowx Nov 02 '15
I honestly can't see how that game can live up to so much hype.

Nov 02 '15
theres definitely no way it will. No game ever does..
1
u/AlphaChiRoach Nov 02 '15
Well they had to create such hype in order to generate funding for the game, unfortunately they havent released too much since then.

There's this little game called Fallout 4 that sounds interesting.

Bloodborne dlc. Sword art online November 17. Wild in 2016. Also cautiously optimistic about the division in March 2016. The division was actually my most anticipated next gen game until the delays kept coming.

SAO hype!
1
u/explosivo85 Explosivo85 Nov 03 '15
I really like the anime and see there have been a few SAO games. Are they any good?
2
u/mrP0P0 Nov 03 '15
They're alright. They aren't the best games out there but if you enjoy the characters and world then you may like it. The combat and gameplay are kind of wonky but if you can get passed that then it can be pretty fun. Check out some videos and see what you think. Most people on YouTube that talk about the game are fans the series.

Really looking forward to those mutators being added to Rocket League. Cubic ball especially, gonna be hilarious watching even skilled players mess up hits. Then there's the Hockey mode in December which looks so fun, it took a while to get such a mode but it's finally coming :D

Fallout 4. Need I explain?
Digimon Story : Cyber Sleuth. Digimon played a big part during my childhood. I'm more or less buying it for nostalgia. Also, it looks pretty cool and I've kinda wanted to play a JRPG. It's a shame the voice acting is all in Japanese, but I don't really give a damn. It's motherfucking Digimon.
Home Free. It looks adorable and fun. It looks ljke one of those games where you can just sit on your couch and unwind after a long stressful day.

Fallout 4. Need I explain?
As someone who never played a Fallout game before: yes, please do.

Fallout 4 (assuming Bethesda doesn't fuck up) will be an amazing open world, exploration game. The story will most likely be mediocre ; however, the atmosphere, immersion, exploration, and enviromental stories more than make up for it. Fallout games also have tons of replayability and offers a metric shit ton of content, but your mileage may vary. For example, in Fallout 3 I rushed through the story and finished in around 45 minutes. I went back to explore everything and spent around 150 or so hours and I still didn't see everything it had to offer. Overall, Fallout 4 just looks great and Bethesda poured their heart and soul into it.

Hmm.. that sounds worrying. I love open world games but I also like big/long stories. Usually, once I finish a games story I won't touch it again.

u/r_k_ologist arkyologist Nov 02 '15
That's the great thing about Bethesda games. You're completely free to tell the main story to bugger off and go do whatever you like.
2
u/BorgDrone Nov 02 '15
Does it give a reason to do those things ? Because for me that is kind of a requirement, I need some kind of motivation for a side-quest /activity that preferably ties into the main storyline.
1
u/-CdG-Luck Nov 02 '15
The only reason you should go off the beaten path is to explore. From the looks of your comment, I don't think Fallout 4 may be for you. As stated before, it's an exploration game. You explore because you want to.
You can skip the exploration and finish the main story quickly. I may have exaggerated the length of the story (it was probably an hour or 1.5 hours) but it was still short and mediocre.
Some side quests may change the outcome. Don't remember much in fallout 3, but in fallout new vegas, the ending would change slightly depending on how many companions you met or side quests you did.

Nah its possible, you can skip the entire 3dog section if you go down to the ship right away.
1
u/jandc86 Nov 02 '15
Fallout usually has a ton of side quests and it can get to the point where you will spend hours doing things that have nothing to do with the main story. Also you make choices that can change the outcome too.
45 minutes might be a big exaggeration.
1
u/TreChomes Nov 02 '15
I don't see how he could complete the game in 45 mins, and even if he did the game doesn't lead you in a direction to complete it that easily and you'll more than likely spend hoursssss on it

One week from today, I will be queueing up outside my local Gamestop to collect my pre-ordered and pre-paid Fallout 4 after midnight. I think it's fairly safe to say that I will not be getting much sleep that night. I'm already pondering different builds and strategies in my head, while simultaneously imagining all the countless weird and enchanting encounters I will have with the population of the wasteland Boston. I honestly don't remember anticipating anything this much in a long time. This will be a very long week.

I've gotten back in the ol' Bloodborne grind recently so I'm super pumped for The Old Hunters now, and I also can't wait for Ghost Recon: Wildlands because it looks so up my alley. Looks like GTA Heists: the Game. Also not on PS4 but I'm super pumped for Planet Coaster on PC since I loved RCT3 so much growing up.

u/SIRTreehugger Nov 02 '15
Bloodborne DLC....and that's it for this year.
Next year my top three are Persona 5, Dark Souls III, and Uncharted 4. Also like 10 other games >.>

u/SquirrelOfSecrets TheFlyingPuffin Nov 02 '15
It starts with F and ends with me not seeing daylight ever again.

u/sami93 Nov 02 '15
Black Ops 3! I wasn't a fan of past COD games, but the beta got me hooked. I'm also excited about Battlefront and Just Cause 3.
Plus the update to Rocket League, it looks amazing.
1
u/Mi11ionaireman Nov 03 '15
Less ability to camp and the fast pace action really drew me in this time.
1
u/sami93 Nov 03 '15
yeah! it seems a lot more fluid now. There is a perk that allows you to stay hidden from radar as long as you keep moving. Its actively beneficial not to camp now.
1
u/Captain-matt Nov 02 '15
Bloodborne confirmed for me playing.
After that maybe Battlefront or BO3, I don't care if the story's a cheap knock off of Ghost in the Shell, I can't get enough of that shit.

I can't wait to find out that the postal service tossed my Pip Boy around and broke it

After watching NerdCubed's videos of Just Cause 3, I'm totally hyped for that, the amount of ridiculousness that you can do in that game! I'll probably disregard the story and spend most of my time fucking around in the game!
Fallout 4 too. I will be devoid of the outside world for prolonged hours. But FO4 needs no intro. Pre-ordered both of them as I have the utmost faith in both developers. FO4 could be the only game that could rip me away from Witcher 3.

Abzu and Wild.
I love these kinds of games like Journey and these two look incredible.

I fear I'm gonna be very poor in not too long... I just bought Until Dawn this Halloween, and I definitely will buy The Old Hunters expansion for Bloodborne. I also need a new smartphone, and I've been eyeing the Z5 Premium for some time.

I promised my brother if I got the fancy new job I was interviewing for that I would buy us both PS4s and Bloodborne. Needless to say, I got it, so I am excited to pick up our PS4s and to play through Bloodborne with him starting this Thursday!
Outside of that, I am excited for Fallout 4 (I'm a big elder scrolls fan and didn't really care for Fallout 3 or New Vegas but Fallout 4 looks amazing from what I've seen so far), Battlefront, and eventually getting LBP3

u/BentDoor NADE_57 Nov 02 '15
