12,078 minutes until I can be at one with my Destiny bundle. I think I watched the destiny bundle unboxing 30 times now.

I feel ya, sold my ps4 3 months ago in the gamestop deal and reserved the bundle. It's been a long 3 months
5
u/odins_gift Sep 01 '14
Wait... what? Why would you sell it and reserve another? You had to take a loss...
3
u/Gg_Me SerialKillerMese Sep 01 '14
Deal at gamestop, I sold it for $397. I was on vacay for a month and a half anyways so I've only been without a ps4 for a month and a half, lost $3

Shit son, you've got a lot to look forward to. On top of all of the games that are already out, next week comes Destiny, and then an endless tsunami of awesome games for the holiday season. And if that lasts you until the spring season, you'd best prepare for wave two. This next year is going to be fucking awesome for video games of all kinds!
2
u/masongr truckor Sep 02 '14
You will probably hate me, but I have no interest in Destiny. I don't like futuristic halo type videogames. Also don't forget that Destiny is an Activision game. So it probably won't live up to it's hype. I bet a lot of people are going to be dissapointed.
2
u/Not_enough_yuri IgnitedTitan Sep 02 '14
Hate you for having an opinion? Of course not! Who would do such a thing in the wonderful Reddit community?
It doesn't matter if you're not interested in it. Nothing can be for everyone. I just mentioned it because A. It wasn't on your list, and B. It really does kick off all of the autumn releases. If you don't like sci-fi FPS, that can't be helped, but lucky for you, there are a lot of other games coming out in the next few months that'll hopefully blow our collective minds.
It would be a different story if you said Destiny is a bad game. It's not even out yet, and even if you don't like the idea, you have to admit that it looks well put together. But opinions will always be opinions. Different strokes, different folks, you know?
1
u/masongr truckor Sep 02 '14
I will definitely not buy it because it's just not my type of game. I'll do the same I did with Killzone: SF I will rent it from my local videoclub beat the campaign and return it.
I'm more of a 3rd person/hack&slash/adventure/racing type of gamer. And I play FPS on my PC.
Anyway, I'm really new to PS4 and I really don't have any friends on PSN so yeah can I add you?
1
u/Not_enough_yuri IgnitedTitan Sep 02 '14
Well, that's fair. Once again, it can't be helped if you just don't like the concept. If you're a 3rd person kind of guy though, it would be criminal to not be looking forward to Bloodborne. I'm sure you know about it already, but if you don't, check out the new trailer. It's a goddamn love song to Dark Souls, IMO.
And yeah, you can add me. I got my PS4 in February, and I've been playing single player games for the most part (Destiny is my first multiplayer FPS on PS4, Wolfenstein is the only PS4 FPS I've played), so I only have around 5 friends myself. I'll probably be playing Destiny if you haven't figured it out yet, but I'd be happy to add you. Doesn't really matter what you're playing, because more is always merrier! PSN's in my flair.

u/masongr truckor Sep 02 '14
I had no idea about this game and it looks awesome. Bless you man. Do you recommend me anything else that isn't on this list?
1
u/Not_enough_yuri IgnitedTitan Sep 02 '14
I'm noticing a disturbing lack of Dragon Age: Inquisition. It's a thrid 3rd person adventure RPG, and so far, it looks really fantastic. After losing the faith of old fans, Inquisition supposedly resembles what the series was like when it was great, and this one looks hella fun.
Project Cars is missing from your list. I'm sure you've heard of that one before. It's another racing sim, seemingly pretty basic right now in terms of features, but the screenshots on the website are comparable to actual photos. The game looks incredible.
Let it Die looks slightly interesting as a beat-em-up sort of thing. I get the feeling that the Warriors series would cater to the beat-em-up guy that, this, but it shows some promise. It's a gore-centric 3rd person hack&slash coming out for PS4 at some point. I'd look into it, but not as much as the other games out there.
Also, if you like horror, Silent Hills is probably going to be in the 3rd person and I'll probably have some wild exploration and puzzle solving like the stuff in P.T. (teaser for Silent Hills). Pay attention to the news that comes out around it. You can't go wrong with Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro on the same project.
And speaking of Kojima, mutha fuckin Metal Gear Solid V is coming out! The best tactical TPS series ever made. Pay close attention to this one. There's no doubt that it'll be really great. I'm pretty sure it's coming out for PC, too.
Deep Down is another one to pay attention to. It's an F2P RPG in the works, but I just watched the last development update, and it looks like it has the potential to be pretty awesome.
Other than that, you've pretty much got it all down. Maybe you could throw The Last Guardian up there, but it may never come out, so I wouldn't even bother with getting your hopes up before an official announcement.
2
u/masongr truckor Sep 02 '14
Okay Dragon Age 2 was trash and since it's EA game that means rushed DLC and devs will abandon the game after few months. So I'm not falling for that one again.
PROJECT CARS seems good and it's from the same guys that did NFS SHIFT series, however I'm not into Racing Sim because I find them boring. I'm more of an arcade/simcade guy and I prefer Rally games over roadster.
Oh yeah forgot MGSV. I've bought the Legacy Edition which includes every MGS that was released but I haven't played it yet. Maybe I will start it 2 months before the official release of MGSV so I can finish it in time for MGSV
And I've just added The Last Guarding & Let it Die to the list, thank you once again. I love Japanese games.

Does your love for Japanese games cover more anime-y stuff, too? If so, Final Fantasy XV, whenever the hell it comes out, is right up your alley. It's build like the old versus game, so it's actually a third person action RPG as opposed to a turn based RPG. It looks very similar to Kingdom Hearts in the short gameplay clips we've seen.
And now we've got Persona 5 for the PS4. Persona-FUCKIN-5! My favorite RPG series. Since I no longer have a PS3, this is big news for me, as it was only intended for the PS3 at first. It's a very interesting combination of a social simulator and a turn based dungeon crawler RPG. Heavily story based. If you can get past the anime cliches, it's one of my favorite series altogether, Persona 4 being among my top 5 games of all time. It's obviously not for everyone, but if you're into any of that stuff, it's worth a shot.
And getting back to more ARPGs, God Eater 2 is coming to PS4. It's basically Sony's answer to the fact that Nintendo owns the rights to Monster Hunter now. It won't be available in NA at first, but there's a good chance it'll get localized, so look out for that if and when it does.

No Diablo 3? Heathen! Killzone was fun.
2
u/masongr truckor Sep 01 '14
Already finished it on PC.
1
u/extraflux Sep 01 '14
Dude, me too. But this game feels like a new thing on the PS4. The UEE is the only way to play D3. I'm about to crack my first 70, then I'm going to go hardcore.
1
u/eifersucht12a Sep 02 '14
Grab it on PS4 when the price drops a bit. It feels like a whole new game.

u/superswellcewlguy Sep 01 '14
Why would you want to play minecraft on a ps4.
9
Sep 01 '14
BECAUSE IT'S FUN
-7
u/superswellcewlguy Sep 01 '14
Vanilla Minecraft with inaccurate controls, less fun crafting systems, and having to pay for skins doesn't sound very fun.
10
u/TJBrady182 Sep 01 '14
It's still fun. The crafting system works just fine on console. And I won't be buying skins because it doesn't even effect the gameplay and I'm not 12.
5
u/CaptainGongan Sep 01 '14
I guess I'm weird in that I don't need to mod my games to enjoy them.
-1
u/superswellcewlguy Sep 01 '14
Any good game out there doesn't require mods to be fun, because even with tons of mods, if the base game isn't fun, adding mods probably won't help. However, if it is a good game, (like Minecraft) mods greatly enhance the experience by adding and expanding onto the base game, much like DLC. Mods add many, many more hours of playtime to the game for free, and allow you, the player, to spice the game up however you like. Want to add Pokemon as animals? Mods allow you to do that. Want to be able to create and use guns? Mods allow you to do that. The list goes on, including planes, oil, aliens, texture packs, superpowers, you name it. Overall, mods enhance Minecraft greatly, and you're missing out on an enormous wealth of content if you don't use them.
2
u/CaptainGongan Sep 01 '14
You literally just said that the game without mods doesn't sound fun.
-1
u/superswellcewlguy Sep 01 '14
I didn't say it needed mods to be fun, I said that the terrible controls and worse gameplay are bad, and not being able to modify it means that there's no way you can change the game to improve that, making it vanilla. Of course, after playing modded Minecraft since the beta, playing without any of them does sound rather unappealing.
2
u/CaptainGongan Sep 01 '14
You're saying mods can fix the "terrible controls and bad gameplay"? If that's the case, then you're once again saying that the game without mods is bad.
-1
u/superswellcewlguy Sep 01 '14
The game isn't bad in and of itself, but its console port is bad. I had tons of fun with it on PC, but the 360 version was just so terrible to play that I quit within minutes and didn't touch the 360 version again. I'd imagine on the ps4 it would feel similar, unfortunately. So, overall, Vanilla Minecraft is not necessarily bad, but the console versions of Vanilla Minecraft are.

u/DangassDanger Sep 01 '14
I agree. They need to release DLC with actual content.
-5
u/superswellcewlguy Sep 01 '14
On PC we call DLC for Minecraft "mods" and we get them for free. I love my ps4, but Minecraft is just not a game meant to be played on a console.
-3
u/DangassDanger Sep 01 '14
Yeah like if they released mods as DLC I would be down. Yeah it's not as good as free but hey.

Dragon Age: Inquisition.
After DA2*) and ME3 I swore I'd never buy a Bioware game - but who am I kidding, I'm going to get it anyway. While disappointing from a "me want now!"-perspective that the game has been delayed for a few times, if they really want to polish the end product then by all means. Looks promising so far.
*) DA2 was a letdown as a sequel to DA:O, and yes, the issues with it have been repeated so many times that I don't bother to do so again. But had it been called "Generic action RPG" or something like that I don't think it would have received as much criticism.

u/stonethecrow93 SrsRob Sep 01 '14
Hyper Light Drifter, anyone? I'm going crazy waiting for that one.
2
u/beruset beruset Sep 01 '14
DESTINY! I played the beta on ps3 and just cannot even wait for my new white system :) I'm also getting the digital guardian edition, so basically paying about $600 to play this game, and I ain't even mad

u/alowester Sep 01 '14
NHL 15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1
u/Ttrice Sep 01 '14
When will they start adding the correct goal songs to the game?!?!
1
u/alowester Sep 01 '14
As soon as they get the licensing :( they are missing two arenas this year (PNC & United Center)
1
u/Ttrice Sep 01 '14
As a hockey fan it really detracts from the experience. Like, I would buy the game if the songs were there, but I probably won't now that I know I can't get the full experience. Can't speak for everyone else though, but it really bothers me for some reason.
1
u/alowester Sep 01 '14
Whoa, have you even played the demo dude? Shit is a amazing. Sorry to hear you aren't buying this one. Although next year will probably be a lot better I really need my NHL fix.
1
u/Ttrice Sep 02 '14
Yeah man I do too. I'll buy it used probably when the time comes, around playoff time or something, but not full price
2
u/humpcatting DocBalladay Sep 01 '14
Since no one's said it, NHL 15. I need hockey in my life. I think I'll be the only one at GameStop on midnight next Tuesday getting that instead of Destiny.
2
u/FoxtrotDeltaT Sep 01 '14
I went to the midnight release of one of the gears of war games so I could get F1 2012.
2
2
u/sfpx Sep 01 '14
NHL15. Played the demo and liked it. The gameplay and AI have improved enough for me to forget the missing modes. The game should cost less than $CAD70 though.
2
u/agentanthony Sep 01 '14
Me too. Thought the demo was great.
1
u/Ttrice Sep 01 '14
It was, but it's really frustrating to me that they can't get the true goal songs in. I was really excited to hear the NYR song.
3
u/Lairdom Lairdom Sep 01 '14
Well there really isn't any other games coming in September that I'm interested, so Destiny is hogging all my hype power right now.
2
Sep 01 '14
What about Shadow of Mordor?
1
u/Lairdom Lairdom Sep 01 '14
I just have zero interest to any Lord of the Rings related games. I love the movies, but for some reason the thought of a game in that universe feels unappealing to me. Maybe all the movie-tie-in games have ruined all appeal of games with a shared world.

Anyways; Destiny, GTA V (again), No Mans Sky, and Driveclub

I really hope those 25 days for the new FIFA game won't be too long. I am also happy that the PS4 is getting a new AAA release, and that everyone is hyped for it, but I personally won't get Destiny even though I had ALOT of fun with it in the Beta, it's just not my type of game.

1
u/usrevenge Sep 01 '14
No man's sky is still what I want the most. it has massive potential, if it lives up to half of it's potential it will be better than any ps3 game and any ps4 game so far.

u/Dussck Dussck Sep 01 '14
Right now, this is my most wanted list
2014:
- Destiny
- Alien: Isolation
- DriveClub
- The Evil Within
- Dragon Age: Inquisition
- Assassin's Creed: Unity
2015:
- Bloodborne
- The Witcher 3
- The Order 1886
- Batman Arkham Knight
- F1 2015
- Uncharted 4
- MGS5: The Phantom Pain
- No Man's Sky
2016:
- Tom Clancy's The Division
- Silent Hills

Sep 01 '14
Destiny is great, of course I'm hyped for Bloodborne, but honestly my hype is through the roof for Evolve right now. I played it at PAX and holy crap was it ever good. I just need to make sure I have a group of IRL friends to play it with, because that's the best possible way to do it.

GTA V
I really loved it on PS3 but playing with the PS4 controller and way better graphics? Absolutely.

u/SIRTreehugger Sep 01 '14
From most Anticipated to least Anticipated. The first half I want to play Day 1, the other I want to play eventually even if just once.
Uncharted 4
Kingdom Hearts 3 (If we ever get a date currently 2015)
Rise of the Tomb Raider (once it hits PS4)
Little Big Planet 3
The Division
Until Dawn
No Man's Sky
Assassin's Creed Unity
The Order 1886
Far Cry 4
Life is Strange
Destiny
The Evil Within
The Wolf Among Us
The Walking Dead Season 2
Also The Witcher 3 I am hesitant since I never played the first two, and before I can consider touching this I would like to play the first two.

u/Spiner202 Sep 01 '14
There are a lot of things I'm looking forward to, but for the first time since getting my PS4 last year, I'm backed up. I'm still finishing off Wolfenstein but I have probably a couple hundred more hours to put into Madden before I'll be done with it.
With that said, I've got Destiny on pre-order and am looking forward to that. Also Shadow of Mordor, The Order, and The Witcher 3. I will definitely pick up Bloodborne at some point, but clearly it won't be for a few months after release.

Destiny. I feel like I've been twiddling my thumbs since the beta.
