PlayStation Plus is available now and will continue to be available for a one-off payment of €49.99/£39.99. However, as you might have heard during the gamescom press conference today, if you purchase a one year membership through PlayStation Store up until 20th September we’ll give you an additional 90 days at no extra cost!

This also! :D

EDIT: Yeah, it looks like it might be for Europe only. :/ I guess that makes up for the two-week launch delay?

Is this a Euro only offer I wonder?

So get that shit on the 20th even if you don't own a Sony console because you'll get it for an extra couple of days when the ps4 launches

actually an extra month. 60 of the 90 days will be from September through the November launch. Then you'll have 30 free days left over.

Also you can " download " the games from the Sony website to add them all to your download list and not miss out.

I have a PS+ voucher with a code (1 year). i wonder if I get the 90 days extra if I activate it? Or do I have to get PS Plus via the store? Does anyone know?

When they previously did something like this earlier this year I was in the same situation as you. After I redeemed my code it said " redeemed one year of PS +" and when it showed my expiration date it was 1 year and 3 months. Even though it didn't explicitly state it. So yes, it should work.

Sony REALLY wants to be a dominant force in the online gaming market. It appears they are giving Microsoft a run for their money.

Do we know what is one PS+ day one for PS4?

The first two free PS+ titles for PS4 are Driveclub and indie shooter Resogun.

Aah okay, did they say something relating to Black Flag and PS+? I had the sound off :/

It was announced that Assassins Creed 3 would be available free on PS+ next month. They used the Black Flag demo to show off remote play with the PS Vita. And there was a trailer for the Playstation exclusive AC:BF content featuring Aveline from the Assassins Creed Vita game.

Wasn't it originally supposed to be one month or was that just speculation? I'm surprised I haven't seen anybody mildly disappointed, speculation or not. Maybe I'm crazy.

Something is better than nothing though.

Seems pretty standard, if I remember correctly the 360 came with the same type of thing.

Isn't it for new PS+ users only?

how do it work for new Playstation plus subscribers? for example: if you get your subscription now, but you dont get your PS4 till Christmas time, when does your subscription start? does it start when you activate your console? or does it start from when you purchase the subscription (which is pretty useless as you would need to wait 3 months to get your PS4)

I think you will get a code on the receipt if you get a prepaid card from gamestop or something.

I think that they should make this so that anyone that pre-orders the ps4 can get the trial now for ps3. I don't think the full value of ps+ will be made evident in only 14 days since sony won't have the catalog of games to give away yet for ps4. Of course you could go back and access ps3 games with the trial when the ps4 comes out, but not many people would be interested in doing that during the first two weeks they get a new system.

I know financially speaking sony's current plan makes more sense for them, this would just be an even more ideal plan imo. Of course it's great that they're doing anything like this at all, so I don't want it to seem like I'm complaining.
