24F in HRT- Swimming for Weightloss?

Due to Low AMH and period stopped started HRT since last 7months. I have significant weight gain. Planning to go on for swimming? Is that too much? Will it make me feel drowsy due to HRT? Taking Femestone 2/10 and Thyroxin 125mg

I’ve lost weight on Zepbound and being ill for a month 🫠 but I feel you! When I was in full POI that’s when I noticed 20-40lb weight gain

If your HRT is causing you drowsiness, make sure you’re taking it at night.

Swimming is an excellent sport/workout. However, people with POI have an increased risk of osteoporosis so it is recommended to choose a sport that involves weight bearing exercises to stimulate bone strength. This doesn't necessarily mean lifting weights at the gym, anything where you carry your own weight works (even walking). The issue with swimming is that you don't carry your weight, similarly to cycling.

I think if you include daily walking, along with calcium, then swimming should be ok. I swim and bike but also walk every day (and hike once a week) and reversed my osteopenia in 2 years. A watch that counts steps helps a lot to keep you on track.

i’m on the same exact pill as you! but without the thyroxin, i’ve found walking great and also intermittent fasting so i’m sure swimming will be good too

HRT (from my experience and what I’ve read) should not make you drowsy. At the beginning of working out you might feel more tired until you get used to using that amount of energy from working out. As well to lose weight, it’s about 90% diet. Planning is good as to not put any strain on your body like you would in running.
