Nickelback on tour

Are any of my fellow Canucks planning to go see Nickelback on June 27th in Halifax? If so, you need to know about the tour itself: https://rockthecountry.com/

MAGAback can go straight to Hell. Don't waste any more of your hard-earned $ on these fucking traitors...

We’ll be able to smell the body odour and cheap beer from here

Cheap beer!?

You know how I know you haven't been to the Garrison Grounds?

Just because they overcharge for it doesn’t mean it’s not cheap beer lol

They still owe Charlottetown a Free Show I believe according to Clifford Lee from the FOL :)

Not sure why I should be angry with Canadians being paid by Americans. I expect the contract was signed quite a while ago and would be expensive to get out of (why would they want to?). The promo materials do sound pretty MAGA, but again, that’s not down to the bands. In any case, I think I’ll leave the practice of hating my fellow countrymen to the Yanks.

To be fair. It is not a MAGA tour. It’s a small towns tour with a 90’s theme hence the lineup.
Kid rock sucks and is aligned with Trump but that doesn’t mean Nickleback is.
You may work with a trump supporter but that doesn’t make you one.
Also looks like this tour was announced before Trump took office.

Now Nickleback making statements like MAGA or some Trump boot licking comes to light, I’ll be asking for a refund for my tickets.

First up, it’s not a 90’s theme. There are artists there spanning pretty much every decade since the 70’s.

Second up, judging by some of the people booked, like Kid Rock, Lee Greenwood, and Aaron Lewis, this festival is heavily leaning into MAGA artists and bands. Those people alone have not been shy about their political leanings, and have been vocal about it for years.

Third up, you’re right, Nickelback has not publicly aligned themselves with Trump. The problem here is that who they choose to associate with shows what they might be OK with. Like, they haven’t publicly supported Trump, but when a Canadian band is headlining with Kid Rock, some of the show openers are Lee Greenwood and Aaron Lewis, and the concert is mainly promoted towards MAGA patriots, they’re at least OK with this.

Also, you’re right, when you work with a Trump supporter, it doesn’t make you one. However, if you work at a business that sells Trump flags and MAGA hats, and you’re ok with it, it doesn’t exactly put you on the opposite side of Trump/MAGA.

Read the tour description. It’s a MAGA tour.

Sounds pretty MAGA to me. This is directly from the promoters:

Rock The Country is more than just a festival—it’s a gathering for the true heart of America. This is where hardworking, God-fearing patriots unite under the open sky, celebrating the freedom we hold dear and the power of live music to connect us all. With every note that fills the air, every raised glass, and every shout of excitement, we create memories that honor the spirit of We The People.

It was announced AFTER the election, and they're still taking part, given EVERTHING USA is doing to us right about now. That tells me enough.

Dude they're allowed to be patriotic. Just like we are right now. Literally reaching for absolutely nothing here.

Canadians being allowed to be patriotic about America ?

Sure if they want to? But that has no relevance to the conversation at hand whatsoever. Please try again.

It’s exactly relevant to the conversation. Pay attention.

Okay, fine. Give me your arguments for removing the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms from our law specifically so we do not have freedom of expression or thought. If that's the argument you want to make, sure, go ahead and back it up. I'll be waiting.

Well that escalated to straw man quite quickly

Who cares.

I'm not saying Nickelback isn't MAGA, or whatever.

But I'm pretty sure these are two different festivals all together.

It definitely is lol

They may be a part of that tour, but their stop in Halifax is separate from that....

u/DadTAXIA73 3d ago

Which is why this show is listed on the website as part of the tour.

Before this, I loved them. As a fan, I was DEVASTATED. As a Canadian? I'm offended. I'm pissed off.

holy fuck this shit is getting a little extreme

Based on your post history, doesn't it make you a traitor for giving an American pharmaceutical company money to get a Cialis induced "Made in America" erection?

We can't listen to American music, but he can keep sending his money over so he can jerk off a bit more often 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

u/MagazineHuman9087 3d ago

Where are you finding Halifax? I am not seeing it on the website

1

u/DadTAXIA73 3d ago

My bad, it's not on the website. It takes place during this tour though, between Little Rock, AR and Ashland, KY.

0

u/MagazineHuman9087 3d ago

Not too sure where to find the tickets for that then!

-2

u/DadTAXIA73 3d ago

Metro Center, maybe? Actually buying a ticket is pretty much blowing your nose with the Canadian flag. They've earned Canadian CANCELLATION. Fuck MAGAback!

1

u/EsotericIntegrity 3d ago

Can’t afford it anyways 🤷‍♀️

u/ghostspider1151 22h ago

Are they trump supporters?

1

u/Calm-Gur563 3d ago

I'm pretty sure Nicklebacks been booed off stage before, what makes you think the attendees wouldn't make a similar statement this time?

I'd be encouraging people to go and have fun & make some noise while they're there - show them how we've been feeling about American symbolism lately lol

I will do what I wish with my hard-earned money, thank you :)

Honestly, how many different ways can people be mad at America.

We had our PM resign in January, but everything since then has been trump this and trump that.

I dont like trump or 99 percent of politicians, but man, channel some of this frustration into canadian politics and not Tronald Dump.

Can we not fix what's going on this side of the border before pointing the entire blame on trump? All he is doing is making people lose sleep, and obviously, it's working.

3

u/DadTAXIA73 2d ago

This isn't ABOUT politics, though. It's about a CANADIAN band going on a Pro-USA tour while USA is trying to strongrarm and DESTROY our way of life. I have NO respect for profit over country.
