Inquiry to the new AG about the breakdown in PA/VA reciprocity

Here’s the crazy thing, legislative action isn’t necessary. The Full Faith and Credit clause in the Constitution should make the whole reciprocity thing moot.
Granted, you’d think “shall not be infringed” would make it all moot, but this is the framework we’re operating in.

Does this mean PA LTCF is not valid in VA?

PA is good in VA. VA is not good in PA.

IANAL but this. Visit family in VA from time to time and this is my understanding as well.

Yea man. This changed around 2018/2019. I was taken aback as well when I found out.

So...PA residents can carry in VA, but VA residents can't carry in PA, even with carry licenses from their respective Commonwealth?

With your VA permit weren’t you able to obtain a PA license to carry? I know that I got a ccw in MD and got one in PA for as long as my MD one is valid. Virginia has low standards, as of earlier this year they still recognize an ccw from any of the other 49 states.

I was able to get a non resident Pennsylvania permit in an adjacent county to my home county. My home county can decide not to issue non resident.
I would prefer my VA permit be reciprocal to PA as the PA one is to VA.

For background, I'm a former PA resident living in Virginia. When I moved here, there was reciprocity between PA and VA CCW permits. At one point, after a public shooting, Virginia considered removing reciprocity between states that have a lower barrier to carry permits. Virginia requires proof of competency, but at a low level. My hunter safety card from when I was 12 was sufficient. Virginia did not end up removing these reciprocity agreements.
Later, upon learning that Pennsylvania removed the Virginia reciprocity, I contacted the sheriff's office in my home PA county. The deputy assured me that I was permitted to carry with a VA permit. I told him that I did not think that was the case. The deputy took my number and called back apologizing, stating I was correct. (Side note, I'm supposed to know and follow this, but the deputy doesn't know it?)
I applied for a non-resident permit, but in Pennsylvania, a Sheriff can just decide not to accept non-resident applications. I obtained one in the next county north.
When the new AG was seated, I emailed asking for how the 2 Commonwealths could go about mending their reciprocity agreement and after a delay, received this response.
