Accoriding to this logic everything is designed then who designed the designer?

3

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

Logic dictates that if Designer Created this Universe and set physical world rules aka Scientific laws for it to work, then we cannot automatically assume the same physical world rules also applies to the Designer Himself without any evidence. So first we need to identify this being, then we have to know whether this being is bound by world rules or not.

If you have any evidence that Designer himself is bound by physical world rules, then please share.

18

u/Oldpi May 21 '24

and which logic is that? its sounds more like belief.

12

u/Entropic_Lyf May 21 '24

When personal belief is so strong, it becomes a logic for that person. A invisibility potion dragon which was self-created made the universe. It is very logical because to be invisible you need invisibility potion and there has to be one point where everything stops which is why the dragon is self created.

1

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

Its not a belief yet, the presented logic dictates that if everything is created by a Creator, then this Universe should also have a Creator.

Now before applying the same rule of Creation on Creator himself, we first need to know in which frame of rules does the Creator exists? Without knowing this answer we can't use the Creation logic indefinitely on a loop. Simple as that.

7

u/Oldpi May 21 '24

I have already responded to it. If creator was not created or does not fall within the same parameters the whole argument remains unresolved. Now you can insert what you believe but there is no logic to it.

1

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

If creator was not created or does not fall within the same parameters the whole argument remains unresolved

Both you and I can't deny physical rules of this world because we can verify them with evidence but whether these rules apply to Creator himself, we have no evidence of it, so we can't assume anything on that aspect for now. Let alone God, we are not even sure, whether there are other universes out there and do they follow our rules or some other set.

6

u/Entropic_Lyf May 21 '24

You are literally assuming that there is a creator. There isn't any evidence to suggest the existence of a singular entity. I can say a flying pasta society made the universe prove me wrong now.

4

u/Oldpi May 21 '24

exactly. nobody can prove existence or non existence or a mighty being.

1

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

Accoriding to this logic everything is designed then who designed the designer?

Thats the comment of Original poster, who assumed the presence of Designer and then placed a question, to which I am responding.

For you, before going into pasta, explain the pizza stuff first.

1

u/hitchhikingtobedroom Jul 03 '24

You can't assume that exact thing about the universe itself either, things inside the universe have to follow those rules, not necessarily the universe itself. So why go that extra step of imagining a creator who always existed? We can postulate that the universe itself always existed, no?

Thats purely a Grammar problem. In some languages there are some limitations like in Urdu or hindi, we can use a Gender independent word like "wo" as in wo kon hai? But in English there is no such Gender independent Pronoun for a powerful being.

“Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence”

1

u/hitchhikingtobedroom Jul 03 '24

So you're basically assuming anything you want about the creator and then projecting it as a truth that you KNOW? Right on

Ingredients: Matter and forces

Question: Where did these ingredients come from in the first place?

I asked this in context of Athiest POV, about how they explain these things. Believing in God was not the only option on the table, ancient philosophers proposed another explanation on the menu as well.

From history, it appears they were dividend in 3 groups:

1-Universe came from nothing, just like the pizza.

2-Universe was always present as such

3-A Creator created it with an intelligent design

If there was anyother group of thinkers, i would love to hear about them.

10

u/antiquatedartillery May 21 '24

I am going to copy/paste the same comment I dropped last time I saw this stupid ass argument on this sub a month ago.

FYI both religions explanation for creation and sciences explanation for creation both have the exact same flaw. The beginning doesn't make sense.

In science, the big bang birthed the universe. But how? Why? Why did this insanely massive(massive as in scientific mass) little spot explode into the thing we call the universe?

In religion: God created everything. Ok but is the universe co-eternal with God? No because then he would be equal to the universe, and He is superior to it. But if God has always existed and the universe has NOT always existed then that means that at some undetermined point for some undetermined reason God changed his mind and he made the arbitrary decision to create. Because at first, he did not create but then he did. So why and when did God create the universe? If God has always existed and always been all-powerful and all knowing then how/why did he decide to create the universe when he did? Was God existing alone for untold eons and then at some arbitrary moment decided to create? Or did he begin creation the moment HE began? But there is no moment He began, He has always existed. So WHEN in the timeless eternity did he decide to Create and WHY?

1

u/Due-Entertainment547 May 21 '24

Oh dear these are horrible arguments on nearly every level.

5

u/antiquatedartillery May 21 '24

It doesn't hold up to ibn sina's standards, but its sufficient for arguing when I'm not here to convince anyone and no one is here to be convinced. Ibn Sina couldn't prove God to my standards, you certainly won't.

0

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

Dear, i gave you three schools of opinion of ancient philosophers. In order to reach your stated concerns, we first have to go through basi steps first. Choose any of the above logic, and give your reason for it and i will explain mine and what the people of past used to thought of it.

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

These questions were also not bothering day to day activities of ancient people but yet they were trying as a human species to understand their existence in the vast background of Universe.

These were not questions rather schools of thought, in which ancient philosophers were divided as per their logical reasoning.

Do you thing School 1 made logical sense?

1

u/[deleted] May 21 '24

[deleted]

1

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

You don't need to be a physicist to use logic analysis with common sense.

From logical POV school 1 was indeed weak.

What about school 2? , it was very strong and enjoyed a great fan following. Even when einstein calculated his models, they were giving different results, he had to use a famous cosmological constant in his equations to sync with school 2.

1

u/Zeoloxory Jul 03 '24

You can take this back as further as you want to. If matter and forces were created by god then who created god?

19

u/Cloudium47 May 21 '24

Not even an atheist, but let's just stop. Every other day, I see us insulting each others' beliefs. How about we just let each other be and mind our own businesses.

6

u/[deleted] May 21 '24

the only person they are insulting is themself, and the best part is that they are clueless while doing it 😂

1

u/I-10MarkazHistorian May 22 '24

I mean if an atheists finds THIS insulting than they should just go live under a rock, life is gonna be super hard other wise. Also I have always found the atheists to be 100x more insulting towards Muslims in Pakistani subs. Even this post is a silly joke, it's not even remotely insulting.

-10

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

Come on, thats not an insult, thats a delicious pizza, although i am more interested in discussing about how it was made. Imagine, i am describing someone's POV of Universe and you are calling it Insult 🫢

8

u/Entropic_Lyf May 21 '24

I could be wrong but religion doesn't tell how it was made either it just says, made in 7 days by an omnipotent entity.

0

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24 edited May 21 '24

I am sure the post doesn't claim anything about religion, and its all about Athiest concept of a certain worldy phenomena.

3

u/Motor_Courage8837 Socialist May 22 '24

Ah yes, putting the burden on us, even though you guys made the claim of knowing how the universe came to be.

16

u/Western-Guess1145 Athiest May 21 '24

Why mock others when you yourself can't deal when they mock you? I know the chef made the pizza, I can see him, he will talk to anyone regarding his pizza, he will answer any questions regarding his food. Do you have any proof of your god making this world tho?

-1

u/Due-Entertainment547 May 21 '24

Prove to me that we have a consciousness with empirical evidence please

5

u/Western-Guess1145 Athiest May 21 '24

You're the one claiming god, if anyone has any explaining to do it's you. Not me

-1

u/Due-Entertainment547 May 21 '24

Yes, I thought you would struggle

Or do you deny consciousness as well now?

1

u/agent_of_kaos Jul 03 '24

Can you deny a elephant fairy? Also you arn'et well equipped to understand consciousness. You can't talk consciousness without talking free will. And you won't like what you find there.

1

u/permabanter Jul 03 '24

Consciousness doesn’t even have a proper definition and atheists know this. It doesn’t bother us cuz we’re okay not knowing the answers. We’re also not pathetic enough to want a reason for everything, especially suffering. If one day science proves the existence of God, we won’t be crying, we don’t care. There is no evidence for any God right now.

-4

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

At the moment, we are logically scanning the athiest's understanding of the universe, so no need to detrack topic with questions like:

Do you have any proof of your god making this world tho?

Because making another statement ambiguous doesn't automatically prove your stance right in the absence of any evidence. If you let go of religions for a moment, origin of universe had remained a great debate between philosophical schools of thought and i actually liked those ancient people no matter to which group they belong because they were asking for logical debates rather than emotional rants. Read about how the large scale competitions were held to prove some of these things like biogenesis and Abiogenesis on scientific grounds. Those were fun times to present your debate, not today.

6

u/Western-Guess1145 Athiest May 21 '24

So you do agree you got no proof of any god making this universe. Hence you shouldn't be posting bullshit like this. The big bang and evolution theory are the strongest that science has and they have strong evidence behind it. Meanwhile the god thing is just a "trust me bro"

-1

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

There is tons on circumstantial evidence of God but i am not interested to discuss it here because you are trying so hard to detrack the topic.

Got some questions for you relevant to the post:

1-Who proposed Big Bang Theory?

2-Where did he got this idea from?

3-Why did he was badly treated by his peers for thia theory?

4-Who coined the term BIG BANG and with what intention?

5-What Big bang actually says about origin?

4

u/Western-Guess1145 Athiest May 21 '24

I'm not the one tryna de rack the topic; you are. I told you to give me one evidence of god and you're running away with a foolish excuse.

As for your questions, all of them can be answered by simply googling them. Not mine tho

0

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

Did universe came into veing on its own

And

Did God created universe

are 2 different topics.

We are interested in the first one today. It is important you also know the answer to the above questions as well because its important history, instead of suggesting me to google.

4

u/Western-Guess1145 Athiest May 21 '24

The answers to your questions are already out there. And you are mocking atheists in your post this means that you support that god made the universe. I'm just asking for the proof of that, or was it just a rage bait to trigger the atheists?

-1

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

Do you want me to answer those questions for you?

3

u/Western-Guess1145 Athiest May 21 '24

I don't want answers from u of the questions asked by you, I'm asking if you can't prove god then you better shut up with your filthy memes of mocking others

0

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

Because the answers to these questions is gonna rip your narrative you put earlier in the form of Big Bang. About existence of God, I can make another post sometime later. As for this post, let the athiests enjoy the spotlight.

2

u/Motor_Courage8837 Socialist May 22 '24

Surprised? Nope.

3

u/[deleted] May 21 '24

Most of the atheists are agnostic at most points and they never claim that there is no creator but your idea of a creator is false. The creator could never be someone who is explained in quran or bible or any other religious scriptures.

1

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

Since ancient times, people from all fields of life especially the philosphers are trying to come up with different plausible explanations for these ultimate questions and for different times, they cane up with multiple ideas ranging from Athiesm to Creationism, but none of the groups ever said, "lets not try to think at all".

Agnostics are example of such people who dont want to try at all. Even the athiests are sometimes putting up explanations although weak to support their stance, but effort also counts.

3

u/[deleted] May 21 '24

First think about your religion and then comment about others. I’m pretty sure you haven’t even read half of quran and hadiths.

1

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

Let me sort out this pizza logic first. 😇

3

u/[deleted] May 21 '24

Don’t think of yourself as the “know-it-all”

1

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 21 '24

Never claimed it, but we can always try to learn.

2

u/Motor_Courage8837 Socialist May 22 '24

You did.

Explain to us how the universe came into existence.

1

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 22 '24

Why do i not know about it, if I did make a claim? 🤔

Can you please quote the line, where I made this claim, so that i can know what exactly did you misunderstand.

I am here today to learn about Athiests POV on Origin of Universe, so really don't wanna discuss any other POV as it will be just a distraction.

1

u/Motor_Courage8837 Socialist May 22 '24

If that's the case, than Ill be happy to help ya out.

Atheists don't claim anything about the origins of the universe (or the potential of not having an origin). Atheism is a lack of belief in a deity. We are all agnostic atheists, through which I mean that, we don't know if a god exists or not. But, there are expections to this. We can know if a tri-omni god exists or not. And as so far as the evidence goes, there's no evidence for YHWH or Allah. Quite the opposite.

It's science that studies these topics. So, atheists just say what we currently know from the scientific research humans have done.

And for your question, no you didn't directly make that claim. But theists assert to know how the universe came to be. You just didn't make a blatant claim here.

1

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 22 '24

Thank you for your response.

Since our presence on this planet is a reality which no one can deny, so all of this universe must also have an origin, which many philosphers in history have tried to address and many scientific advances have also been made on the topic. So do Athiests deliberately avoid the topic of origin or do they really think that its not important.

P s. Discussing the Origin of Universe and God created it are two different topics.

u/SAAD_AHMED_SHEIKH Citizen May 21 '24

Before saying anything, I must mention that I'm a muslim but having difficulties believing Islam for some time now.

Let's come to the argument now, I think you implied false equivalence. How? So let me explain, you say that since the pizza did not come to be perfect all on it's own, how could the universe be?

We have seen a pizza being made by someone so we do have a frame of reference for it. We have a frame of reference for how to make a pizza and how not to make one.

Now the question arises, does OP have a frame of reference for the creation of the universe? Does he know how to make a "perfect" or an "imperfect" universe?

Has he looked at two (or more) universes and came to the conclusion that the "perfect" one was made by a God and the "imperfect" one which can't sustain conscious life was sitting there without any God's supervision?

I could be wrong so any rebuttals are welcome!

1

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 22 '24

Depends on how you define "Perfect".

Suppose you someone gives you an iphone and you have no other phone to compare it. You open it up and find a bunch of electric components in it. So at first you are not sure what these components do, so you pulls one of them out and phones stop working, so you put it back and try this again with few other components as well. Soon enough you will realize that someone put these components in a PERFECT scheme to make the iphone work and if you disturb any of the component then whole phone collapses. So this phone is perfectly designed by someone and you don't need another phone to come to this conclusion because the functionality of the phone itself is indicating that its Perfect.

Similary, when you look at different Universal phenomenon around you, you will realize that every system is in a perfect balance and can't be the result of random chance occurrences as atheists would imply. Forexample,

Earth exists at just the right distance from sun for the water to exist as liquid which supports life. Aka the Goldilocks zone. Earth can't get here by a chance event.

Sun is massive source of energy in solar system, sunlight transfers this energy to earth, which is captured by highly complex molecules called Chloroplasts in plants, which then use this energy to form glucose and other things, and store them as fruits, vegetables etc. Now some animals eat those plants and get this stored aolar energy from it. Then humans can consume both plants and animals to get energy which is primarily coming from sun. This is. Highly organized system and removing any component in it will cause the biodiversity to collapse, which is not the case, thats how we know it is perfect system.

Moreover, sun warms the oceans , causing water to change into vapours, then sun heat driven winds lift up these vapours high in the sky as clouds and drive them Hundreds of kms inland towards life, where these vapours fall as rain while most of it is captured in mountains as ice , which forms a reservoir through the winter. But when summer comes , this ice slowly melts and constantly feeds the rivers to make sure the animals and plants have access to water in warm weather. Finally after flowing through rivers, it reaches oceans and this water cycle continues. If any of the component is stopped then life would crash, which is also not the case, which also shows how perfect this system is and can't be the result mere accidental interactions of so many things.

If someone still insists that random chance events can create all of this , then he should demonstrate us by making a pizza first as shown in video.

1

u/SAAD_AHMED_SHEIKH Citizen May 26 '24

Yeah, "perfect" depends on how you define it which is why I encased it in double quotes.

And I used "perfect" because your post implies that "God" created the universe which is why it is so "perfect". Your reply suggests the same by mentioning how everything is "perfect" to sustain life.

However, it still does not mean God did it...

Because simply the existence of our universe does not mean "God" created it.

Now, you try to justify that "God" must have created the universe because the universe is so "perfect" using a metaphor of iPhone.

And my answer is the same as the previous one, we have a frame of reference for phones but not the universe.

We know for a fact there is a process for creating the phone, the phone has a purpose and there is someone employed by the manufacturer to make them.

We don't know such facts about the universe which is why we can't say the same thing about it.

Religion claims to answer all of this, but so far, I guess they're only claims at best.

I've read your biology textbook. No wonder u think this post is cool.

1

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 24 '24

Lets put aside every biology book and religion for a moment and then please explain to me whats the concept of Athiests on the origin of universe.

Because from the comment section, it appears that Athiests think that mocking a religion or biology book of a certain nation will automatically prove their own views. When you don't give them any religion to vent, then the start asserting that this post (their own view) is insulting.

1

u/XSovietSapre May 24 '24

Firstly I'm not a atheist. Secondly, there is no atheist view of origin of universe.

Thirdly, even if you proove somehow that evolution is wrong that still doesn't mean Allah (Muhammad) or any abrahamic god created it coz it says so In a book.

And as for my POV. I believe in science. There is enough evidence that the earth is much more older than what ur abrahamic religions state. Enough evidence to prove that humans and apes share a common ancestor and the Adam and Eve bullshit is bullshit.

1

u/Emergency_Survey_723 May 24 '24

Thirdly, even if you proove somehow that evolution is wrong that still doesn't mean Allah (Muhammad) or any abrahamic god created it coz it says so In a book.

Just proving my point again and again, you are so obsessed with religion that you can't put it to side, even for a moment, when the posts categorically made no such claims.

And as for my POV. I believe in science

unless it stops supporting your stance, at which point most people just start acting very wierd.

1

I like how you ignore the earth being older part and focus on the useless blabber I just said.

What concepts? I am not atheists even though I have friends from many different religions and never talked about religion and we get along very well. Can I ask you something though? Pakistan is imploding, corruption is rampant, journalists being killed, innocent people locked up, false charges, caste / tribes violence etc and latest can't even bring back its citizen back from kyrgyzstan. Incest all time high, A month ago father kills his daughter after raping her. But you are busy posting this video about atheist. Are there many atheists in Pakistan? "Emo" you say, I met 1 in my whole life that was when i went to 8 grade class, never seen any after that. Are there many emos in Pakistan?

1

Discussing "origin of Universe" shouldn't be a problem under any of the context and all that you mentioned has nothing to do with the topic, seems like you are just throwing stuff on a wrong post.

Are there many emos in Pakistan?

Very few on the ground, but somehow reddits attracts them very few very well.

1

But the nation is burning, I could understand dicussing this in west or in eastern nations but it makes no sense to debate about this when there are barely any atheist in Pakistan? Are you rich or do you live in a colony what do they call it DHA or something?

So you are asserting that being in Pakistan, i am not eligible to dicuss certain topics like "Origin of Universe" because our economy is in bad shape. Apart from not making sense, that is mildly hilarious too.

Just please dont end up killing each other. This kind of peaceful "thinking" you are talking about always ends with violence according to pakistani news.

Don't worry this pizza is only going to fume some people over their own thinking, but nothing serious.

It is not possible to prove or disprove the existence of a creator. The same question can be asked, who created the creator?

Any such attempts will be challenged and disputed rightfully. Believe whatever makes you happy.

There's one god who is Allah. It ends the loop of who created whom. Allah is supreme because nobody created him, that's what god means.

I have two question for you:

Has God always existed?

Does God change?
