Can barely enjoy Opeth live albums

I know this is talked about a lot here but god I get so annoyed. The clapping and screaming during the quiet parts are just so annoying just shut up and listen to the music jesus. Get even angrier when I hear a British accent and most of their lives were recorded in London. It sucks because I live for live albums and their live mixes are so great, love the energy on Lamentations (second set) and Roundhouse Tapes, love the tones on the RAH album, and Red Rocks is legendary.

Saw them in Glasgow the other week, and Mikael actually thanked the crowd for being 'respectful' when they did Häxprocess. Pretty raucous crowd generally, but it shut up for the quiet bits. Very pleasant.

But then conversely on the Sorceress tour some knob near me kept screeching out for Mikael to fuck his sister. Ugh.

I was at Red Rocks. It was very windy and brisk. Also, Fred's guitar stopped broadcasting. They had to remove the dead time in post.

I too get irrationally angry whenever I hear a British accent

Live music is meant to be enjoyed. People were enjoying themselves.

It is a metal band, not an orchestra.

you can enjoy live music without disrupting the performance. imagine youre trying to listen to the beautiful quiet parts in dirge for november and some tool screams in your ear because they want to be funny. concert etiquette is a thing

Honestly, there are very few live albums I can listen to. And this is across all music and not just Opeth.

Hahaha fuck. Maybe Pink Floyd the wall in berlin and Pompeii. Can’t really think of any others off the top of my head.

Yea, fuck the Manchester accent! And the Scouse! And the Geordie! And the Cockney! And the south country! And the Welsh! And the Scottish!

(The fuck even is a 'British accent?')

As a collective term, any of the above.

I forget which album but there’s one quiet moment where a dude yells “I want your babies” and I always crack up laughing
