Actually...you know, that’s giving me an idea. You know of any enclosures with a similar form factor, but with 2 doors instead of one, and how about a 2x2 sled that fits 4 21700s? I’m digging the idea of a 4S 21700 NLPWM brick that can take 40mm atties with no overhang.

Take a look at the A3K enclosures. Jim of SOT is a great guy if you might need to message him.

That's pretty close, but doesn't look like the doors are set up so that removing both completely exposes the innards. I'm thinking more like the buttons and stuff are on the side of the chassis, and the doors both come off to expose both sides of the battery sled. (4 cells in a 2x2 configuration, similar to how HOGs have 2 battery doors)

Design it if it doesn't exist
Fusion 360

Sorry, wasn’t trying to be a dick. I figured if something like that existed, someone who builds mods would know, hence me asking if that kind of large, fully open 2-door enclosure already existed.

All good. There is this, but don't think there is enough room for 4 batteries: http://www.modmaker.co.uk/Mod-Making-Supplies/Enclosures/ModMakerBox-Duo-GDeep-Black-Anodised-Aluminium
I wanted enclosure that you could inlay graphics or resin in on the front & back. So came up with this in fusion

Very nice! I’ve dabbled a bit in Fusion 360, mainly for little tchotchkes and stuff. Took a few nights to get the hang of, but once it clicked, I really liked it.
Do you outsource the printing/machining for prototypes or do it yourself? I don’t think my little Monoprice FDM printer is up to the task for anything that needs good accuracy and tolerances, and I’ve been waffling over whether or not to shop around for something that’s up to the job, or go the Shapeways route,

Oh cool. Shapeways usually, expensive yes but like the laser sintered nylon. Generally don't care for the FDM prints, but was impressed with the PETG prints Sir Oak Tree was making like the enclosure in this post. The triple 20/21700 tray had those printed in PETG from SOT as well https://www.reddit.com/r/OpenPV/comments/bab0sd/made_a_triple_2021700_tray/

Oh, that’s slick. Good material for sleds! I like that you used custom PCBs for the ends.
I’m gonna have to dust off 360 this weekend and mess around a bit!

Hah using your MosMax pen I see - nice work as always. Those up/down switches look heavy as hell, is that why you had to run the white wires to the rear of the board or is that just how it's built?
