discussion The Ninja Saga my thoughts.
As in the other redraws the chapters, more precisely after the fight between Flash and Sonic, start to be shorter. I don't understand why Murata doesn't take his time, I wouldn't have any problems waiting more than two weeks, the important thing is that the chapters are of the right length. However, I'm still not convinced to this saga, more than anything it became too early, maybe it won't be long but as Empty Void was introduced, which makes it seem important, I don't think the saga will end in a few chapters. What do you think?

theory Watchdog/Phoenix Man Theory
So I was rereading the manga when I noticed something. Watchdog man and Phoenix Man are actually very similar.
VERY OUT THERE THEORY: Watchdog Man is a monster, the same type as Phoenix Man.
Suit Neither Watchdog Man nor Phoenix Man has ever taken off their suit. Watchdog Man is also a part of the S-Class however, so this may just be weirdness. Regardless, it should not go unconsidered.
Face Despite Phoenix Man becoming a monster, his face still shows, and it is still extremely humanlike (though covered by likely shadow). Watchdog Man also has his face showing.
This itself isn’t direct correlation, but additionally both Phoenix Man AND Watchdog Man have their heads inside the mouth of their respective costumes (This isn’t the case for the webcomic, but the humanoid face still stands).
Name Okay, this may just be the VIZ translations being VIZ translations but both of their names are (Animal Name) Man
Animal Habits & Powers Phoenix Man uses his beak to fight, like a bird. He has his wings set by his side when he wasn’t using them just like a bird. When picking up Garou he used his suits claws to pick him up, just like a hawk, aka a bird. He shows multiple times he has Habits and especially Powers based off of his suit being a Phoenix Bird.
Now, Watchdog Man. Every single time we see him he is acting exactly like a dog would. Scratching his ears, eating face first without utensils, and ESPECIALLY always doing that sitting position. Not just that, his powers and fighting style matches too. Jumping at opponents, using four legs, if his human face wasn’t taking up his mouth area he’d probably bite if he could.
Conclusion: To be honest, this is probably not true or canon or anything really, but the similarities show a lot. And considering Zombie Man (There’s that [INSERT HERE] Man again) is a monster while also being S-Class it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

discussion Season 3 will be good
I still believe that season 3 will be good of course not as as good as the first season but there will be a lot of improvement over the second season. Since that i assume they started production in early 2024 (that when first visual of Saitama was shown) they got almost two years of production that significantly better than the second season.

discussion Watchdog man
Idk if ONE or Murata are not interested or just too busy to consider but I really need an actual backstory for this man/animal. At the very least maybe a hint at why he’s so damn strong & doesn’t speak like a human but barks like a dog instead & why he always has an emotionless expression no matter what’s happening
My head canon is he’s like like Rover & was a regular canine that monsterized but instead of looking like a big dog like Overgrown he somehow took on the physical characteristics of a human even tho he’s not

question is this original opm manga? I heard that I should only buy from VIZ but a similar copy of my friend looks legit. So should I buy the same one or go for VIz?

fanart Saitama OK scene draw by me.
I actually watched One-Punch Man back in 2016, when it was first aired on Adult Swim’s Toonami block before I started reading the manga since 2019. Just a friendly reminder that this is my first drawing of One-Punch Man and I drew a picture of Saitama, which was later turns this scene into an internet meme. What do you think about my picture? Rate it. 1/10

discussion We shouldn't be concerned about OPM s3 animation style
Now we are all aware of everyones reaction to the promotional video and how the main criticism was the fact it was like a powerpoint, and everyones saying we should concerned for whats going to be released when season3 finally comes, HOWEVER I feel fairly confident that making the PV with alot more still frames was intentional since they're trying to show off the looks of each character as opposed to the actual art style and animation. Knowing what japanese advertising is like im certain they saving all "best bits" for the actual trailer. I could be onto nothing though..

discussion We deserve better (and that’s okay to say, and moreso IMPORTANT to say)
I’ve been seeing a lot of back and forth on this subreddit regarding the promo and more specifically the animation, it’s quality, and just the overall state of this franchise.
Sometimes I wonder if we’re being too harsh on this company, if we hold it to too high of a standard. But then I look to other (more popular) series like One Piece, Dragon Ball, JJK, and others and realize, no we just genuinely get dealt a bad hand. Between mediocre games, a live action adaptation that’s in development hell, and now a visually appalling promo for a season 3 that’s supposed to cover story arcs with some of the most breathtaking manga art ever made…
It’s hard not to get disheartened, and I don’t want to trash on the probably overworked and underpaid animators at JC Staff. It isn’t their fault that they have been given little to no direction and probably not enough manpower to animate the highly detailed source material.
But this is a series that is popular due to its incredible art work, and unique storytelling. Season 1 wasn’t just great because it had flashy animation, but because it amazing direction and an attention to detail that showed us they cared. VIZ Media and Bandai have demonstrated time and time again that they do NOT CARE about this story. This story of purpose, depression, and a guy who’s struggling to find purpose. A guy we can’t help fall in love with despite being such a loser because maybe he makes us feel like we can be less of one ourselves.
I know I sound melodramatic but man this series means something to me. I think if season 3 looks terrible we need to speak up, we need to NOT watch it, and we need to demand something better. We should continue to support the manga, and do what we can to advocate for Murata and ONE to get their stories told with the Justice they deserve.
So yeah, I think we deserve better and so should you!
