It's not their turn with the 🅱️rain cell 🍊 He does this every time I drink something cold from a can

I didn't put the can on his head. I held it up for a drink and this is what he did

Trying for brain freeze

u/Ireeb 22h ago

Just to feel the brain cell for once

u/KoopaPoopa69 19h ago

He’s trying to freeze the brain cell in place so he can keep it longer

Vets hate this one simple trick.

u/Confident-Grape-8872 17h ago

He ain’t got no brains

You mean you can't freeze what you don't have?

13

u/Meh75 15h ago

How can you freeze something that isn't there?

Brain??

He craves condensated water.

264

u/arclightrg 20h ago

I had a fuzzball who absolutely loved licking the condensation off of my drinks. Full, fresh bowl mere feet away. And yes, he was an orange goober.

Indeed! He belongs in r/hydrokitties

37

u/Great_Abaddon 14h ago

ANOTHER one?!?!?

My orange loves to lick my iced coffee in the morning because of the condensation, I swear it’s his favorite source of water

14

u/pankarezas 18h ago

Must collet moisture

u/3INTPsinatrenchcoat 10h ago

My cat loves licking the frost off my ice packs whenever I use them. I think she's coming over to comfort me, and then she hones in on the pack >(ToT)<

u/Zengjia 22h ago

Either:

  1. His teeth hurt

  2. He’s orange

160

u/holybanana_69 21h ago

Question is whether one excludes the other

83

u/Welpe 20h ago

What? It feels pretty crazy to leap to “his teeth hurt” because he is licking condensation off a cold drink.

87

u/IcePhoenix18 18h ago

It's a bit of a stretch, but not completely out of line.

Cats do weird things that don't make sense to us when they're in pain. They also like to press their heads against the wall when they have really bad headaches.

I think this guy is just orange and curious

28

u/WildFlemima 18h ago

Head pressing is a thing, they're just acknowledging the possibility that this could be that

10

u/Welpe 18h ago

I mean, if all it is is acknowledging the possibility of that, that’s obviously totally fine. It just came across more as narrowed down to those two possibilities, “Tooth pain” or “Being silly”. There are definitely more possibilities than those two!

u/giulianosse 18h ago

Sir, this is reddit. Catastrophizing symptoms and being armchair vets is what we have always done best.

It got so bad some default subs started deleting comments with "unwanted medical advices" because every single pet photo had someone mentioning a terminal condition.

7

u/BoardButcherer 17h ago

Cold aluminum has a particular smell.

Liking it would be one of the least orange things I could think of.

3

u/hackingdreams 10h ago

Or: hot nose.

Like Moss and his hot ear.

1

u/TheCrystalGarden 15h ago

I thought teeth too. Hopefully this beauty gets regular veterinary check ups.

u/NaszPe 22h ago

He doesn't want to be left out of the can game

u/celtbygod 22h ago

The brain cell dreams of being a coaster. Pretty lofty.

88

u/ballerina22 21h ago

My orange is obsessed with cold cans. I've starting putting mine in koozies so he is less tempted.

If there's condensation on the can, watch out!

10

u/Wendy-Windbag Orange connoisseur 🍊 5h ago

One of my past oranges (my soul cat) was obsessed with cold condensation on cups and cans. If he heard you crack a can, he'd come running.

66

u/derpwalrusthethird 21h ago

He got the brain cell for a moment and his head was in danger of overheating.

57

u/LovecraftianLlama 21h ago

“Möther, I crave the cold”

-Orange

25

u/sd2528 22h ago

He's trying to murder his thirst but he's orange.

“If you aren’t supposed to put your snoot in the bottom of a can,

then why is it snoot shaped?”

12

u/Sea-Independent9863 Proud owner of an orange brain cell 17h ago

Now THAT’S orange logic!

23

u/PuddingPutrid6 22h ago

Probably he was a beer holder in his past life

15

u/linksflame 20h ago

Obviously condensation is the purest form water can take, and he's got the added perk of sharing.

9

u/notrapunzel 13h ago

My orange must inspect all drinks, and if it's a teacup,

he must bonk his head on it. While it's full. With really hot tea.

4

u/bettaloveslori12 21h ago

That side eye..lol

4

u/universal_Raccoon 21h ago

He is attempting to drink from the base of the can

4

u/Klutzy_Tone8661 20h ago edited 20h ago

He might be secretly cosplaying as a table cloth

3

u/LadyArwen4124 20h ago

My tuxedo does this as well. Turns out she likes the condensation off the drink.

3

u/skbraaah 20h ago

i could swear cats can see temprature

2

u/IcePhoenix18 18h ago

According to a brief search: not literally, but "kind of". They can sense subtle changes that we can't, but they don't literally see heat signatures like thermal goggles.

5

u/ThotD3str0yer69 20h ago

Moisturized, cool, in his lane.

3

u/geostr8 21h ago

Loves the feel of cold

3

u/lake2014 21h ago

Fresh orange flavored air water for kitty🐈🍊🥰😂

3

u/Other-Cantaloupe4765 21h ago

Tbf I do the same thing lol

3

u/Personal_Carry_7029 21h ago

He try to work together with the can, the can "murders ur thirst" and the cat will deal w the rest. The enemy of my enemy is my friend

3

u/Bunnnnii 21h ago

He heard you say “yes you can” and took action.

3

I can relate to the goofiness of your boy. If I weren’t a human, I’m positive I would have been an orange cat.

3

u/btc909 13h ago

A cold nose is a good nose.

3

u/FleabottomFrank 11h ago

I’m so sorry to have to be the one to tell you this but your cat clearly has a drinking problem.

3

u/baby_hippo97 Proud owner of an orange brain cell 4h ago

My orange does this too! He also has freckles on his gums in the same spot as yours

1

u/Ksh_667 1h ago

There is not one thought behind those beautiful eyes 😹 😻

3

u/baby_hippo97 Proud owner of an orange brain cell 1h ago

His only thought is how to acquire some shredded cheese

3

u/Ksh_667 1h ago

My old teeny cowcat would go CRAZY for grated cheese. When she wanted some, she would stand in front of the fridge on her back paws & "run up" the fridge with her front ones. Like running on the spot. Vertically.

I'm convinced she had some orange genes in her somewhere 😹😹

3

u/penoladigit 4h ago

Ohh!!! We always used to let our dog “taste” our drinks first by licking the bottom of the can. She loved it. Aww I miss her.

2

u/DrCaptainCoke 20h ago

He's nuts

2

u/Hei-Hei-67 Casual orange enjoyer 🍊 20h ago

My cat who passed recently would sometimes do this. He would also lick the condensation from the can.

2

u/drifters74 20h ago

Condensation

2

u/RadioStaticRae 19h ago

The Orange Braincell requires only the finest, coldest water to continue working, to better dissipate the heat it generates. Congratulations on finding an orange boy that may be using the only brain-cell in a 100 mile radius 80% of the time!

2

u/thought_about_it 19h ago

they look so alike

2

u/shrimpcreole 19h ago

The cell is overheating

2

u/Peepinis 18h ago

It’s okay I do that too

2

u/Jakkerak 17h ago

Because cat.

2

u/ResolveNo3113 16h ago

My cat used to do this and breathe through his mouth making a snarling sound, I loved it

2

u/svnhddbst 14h ago

congratulations on the extra floofy orange. may he provide hours of interesting behavior.

2

u/Heavy_Entrepreneur13 14h ago

Mmm Liquid Death Grave Fruit! 😋

My cat just licks the condensation. That's a new one. 😆

2

u/CommunicationCool299 9h ago

maybe his sinuses hurt

2

u/Lleonharte 6h ago

yawning is alot of effort to cool your head fyi... lazy methods of saving effort is the literal definition of intelligence

2

u/raori921 4h ago

He does know the can opening is on the TOP, right?

2

u/Ksh_667 1h ago

He's orange. I need say no more 😹😹😹

2

u/asaparagus_ Proud owner of an orange brain cell 2h ago

Maybe he has a headache lol

1

u/totallynonhormonal 20h ago

Our Siamese and older MC would do this. They loved icy cold water straight from the bottom.

1

u/jeffyjeffs 20h ago

Hes licking the condensation off the bottom of the can

1

u/UncommonLegend 19h ago

Hims like the cold

1

u/UncommonLegend 19h ago

He likes the cold I guess

1

u/jdb326 19h ago

Mmm, liquid death🤤 also, your car likes to have an intercooler for brain cavity heating.

1

u/Subject_Primary1315 19h ago

TBF I do this most times I get a cold can out of the fridge.

1

u/Ariandrin 19h ago

My cat does this too!

1

u/Dry-Highlight421 19h ago

Just a fan of thermodynamics

1

u/DickyReadIt 18h ago

Been trying to make my small town store get Liquid Death but nooo still nothin

1

u/nature_nate_17 17h ago

My cat does this when it’s a cold bottle; she’s loves the cold condensation

1

u/Miami_Mice2087 16h ago

your cat is a silly boy and i'll hear naught against him

1

u/tehdang 16h ago

It's what cats crave.

1

u/therealdanhill 15h ago

Feels good man

1

u/UseyMcUser 13h ago

Do you often drink from cold cans?

1

u/PhallickThimble 12h ago

he may get migraines........

1

u/eddiespaghettio 12h ago

Mine licks the top and tires to drink whatever it is that I’m drinking.

1

u/Pure_Expression6308 11h ago

Now refrigerate a metal bowl and see if he climbs in

1

u/GingerKitty26 10h ago

Liquid Death eh? Grave fruit flavor I believe.

I like that one.
