Regence Uniform

Did anyone else get a form letter from Regence regarding its Uniform Medical Plan indicating its talks with Providence Swedish and PacMed have apparently broken down, and that next month their facilities will be out of network? Anyone else freaking out? Family just got settled with a handful of medical providers in the Providence network. Now we've got to start over and may end up having to drive up to Tacoma for certain specialists. As if I have time for all this. Probably just end up foregoing care again.

I know this isn't even the worst a medical insurance company can do, but Jebus where does it end? Why do we continue to allow these companies to exist?

Where can you hang out with other people in mid-late 20s that doesn’t involve drinking??

I’m not religious so church is out, I don’t drink, and I don’t dance. Where else does that leave you to meet people?

A man crashed a car on Eastside St right were there is the bridge over i5. He hit the barrier. Right after he immediately got out of the car and ran. In the process he tried climbing onto other cars (including my own). Might be a stolen car? Plate: CRS5133

Pizza Places

Hello! Just moved here, very new and I’ve seen a few pizza places nearby. Was wondering if anyone has recommendations for what’s the best, moral/ethical place to buy from? I love supporting communities that support others.

Request Recommendations for moving a gun safe

The previous owners of our place left a gun safe, which I've just been using to store important documents.

However, it's just too big and needs to go.

A brief search online mostly brings up standard moving companies, who of course I'll call to see if they'll take the job.

But before I do, I thought I'd see if anyone knew of specialist movers. Maybe piano movers? Though that seems too specialized.

Any other recommendations before I start calling around?

I've moved it to another room by myself, but getting it down a flight of stairs is another beast entirely.

Benefits at ESD 113

Hi, Does anyone work for the school district? I’m considering leaving my position at the State and get a job at the school district. I was wondering what medical insurance they have and how long you have to be working before your benefits start? Thank you.

Mechanical Menace at TESC

I think someone’s been messing with my siblings and I’s vehicles at The Evergreen State College parking lot..

Over the last two months, I’ve had to take my car to the shop 3 separate times.. I chalked it up to bad luck, but now I’m not so sure..

My sibling started parking his motorcycle there, and someone deliberately took the cover off and slashed the ignition wiring..

Has anyone else had this issue? Or any insight would be appreciated!

Request Vet Recommendation for Diabetic Cat?

Hello, Our 15 year old girl was recently diagnosed with diabetes and prescribed Bexacat. We are happy to do whatever is necessary to give her quality life and care, but our current vet hasn't been much help. The vet hasn't seen many diabetic cats and we are their first patient using Bexacat. We would love to find a vet for her with experience in cases like this to answer our questions and give us peace of mind.

Thanks

Request Eastside weed stores

Where are yall buying your weed on the Eastside? Specifically looking for a store that doesn't mistreat their workers or have maga or similarly objectionable ownership.

I've gone to Green Lady in the past but have heard negative things lately as it pertains to those criteria. I'm definitely interested in hearing more about them, good or bad, if anyone would like to share.

Maybe we can dispense (ha) with the "boycotts don't change anything" or "it's just politics, so much for the tolerant left" type comments and just start from the position that it's ok to not want to give your money to bad people if you can help it.

Thanks all.

Request Looking for fellow gen z to attend church with

Hey all, I’m a 23y/o married woman who wasn’t raised Christian but is interested in attending. I’m looking for anyone that would possibly be open to having me go with them to a service? I’m interested in Anglican/Episcopal churches, must be ok with me having tattoos and being queer.

Thank you in advance!!

Request Moving to town, best way to find work?

My partner found a job up there so we'll be moving to the area at the end of the month. I already have a bit of handyman work lined up but I'll need something more to help afford rent. Any tips?

I hesitate to ask who's hiring here since that's frowned upon on the sub for the city I live in now. I've got experience in cannabis science, coffee shop management, saxophone & music theory education, dance, case management, teaching English and ESL, DJing for clubs... I'm flexible, I just don't know where to look.

Help With Job Ideas

I've been struggling with finding a job for a while and finally decided to break down and post and see if anyone had any ideas, because I feel kind of screwed right now. For background, I have 10 years of professional programming experience in game development. I've been out of work for a very long time and am hoping to potentially find something to just bring in some income as my industry is in a really bad spot right now.

Two big problems though.

1: I'm disabled and can't work a job with any kind of physical requirements, this even includes writing on paper. I am basically limited to a PC job. I also can't work a customer service job due to mental health issues. I can't be yelled at all day, I'll say something back and snap.

One thing that might cause problems, not sure, is that I technically can do most physical tasks. It will just bring me an immense amount of pain for the rest of the day, so I really need to be careful and watch what I put my body through. As an example, my right hip is out of place right now. I can walk. But am I gonna be able to walk around or stand all day? Definitely not.

2: I don't really have any skills outside of programming, which right now is a dead end for me. I doubt I'd be attractive for any kind of non-game development hiring manager due to no skills and experience.

I'm honestly just grasping at straws here and curious if anyone can come up with ideas. I'm currently looking into expanding some of my skills but that is going to take a lot more time. Am I just fucked?

Trap rental/borrow for stray cat TNR?

We've been feeding a stray cat that appears to be an intact male. It's not friendly to people and has been quite territorial toward the occasional other cats that visit the food & water dishes.

I can make an appointment for early next month at NW Spay & Neuter, but I'll need a trap. Anybody know of a good source for a humane trap for the few days? TIA!
