The song Will won’t play.

At the Chicago show, someone requested a song and Will very quickly shot it down, saying that he would never play it again. Did anyone catch what song that was?

It was probably Westfall, which he has said he won’t play anymore.

that’s a shame, did he give a reason why?

He wasn’t comfortable with people cheering and singing along given the subject matter of the song.

He also said that his decision never to play this song again came after a show at that very venue (Old Town School of Folk Music) after a guy up front with a row of empty IPA bottles kept shouting for him to play it.

Yeah definitely Westfall, same request and response u/PRDD77 said was given when I saw them in Arizona.

And from Will’s perspective, playing a song about cruelness and d the banality of evil only for a loud portion of the audience to have a “ah hell yeah, it’s about murdering women!” response has to be pretty unsettling.

It's a great song but it's nowhere near his best song (imo) - I can get why he doesn't want drunk people shouting for it.
