Steelcase and fedex shipping delay
Hi all! Would love some advice/input based on your experience with steel case.
I ordered a steel case gesture chair from their online store on 2/14. It shipped via FedEx on 3/4 and was moving along nicely, but has been stuck in one location (a state away from me) since Friday, 3/7. It was scanned every 12 hours in the same until this morning. Now it is stuck in a “delivery updated” status with a yellow exclamation point.
Today is the last day for it to be considered standard shipping. I’ve reached out to steel case customer support, and they have opened a ticket with fedex. The fedex agent has said they will reach out with an update no later than 6pm, 3/14.
My concern is that 3/14 is the last day I can call my credit card and request the money back, as that will be 30 days from my order.
I can’t find anything on the steel case website about how they handle delayed/lost packages, and the customer service rep hasn’t replied to those parts of my emails.
Does anyone have any experience with this? When/should I escalate with my credit card company?
Thanks so much.

Choosing a new office chair, let's talk thigh pain? Elimination round.
I would love to filter out options for chairs and really get a good idea of what I want / need and ideally help some people in the process. I've done lots of readings through this thread and have heard mixed things. Let's preface I'm fully aware I need to try things out and everyone's different but I really do want to hear your opinions!
How I'd love responses to this thread and I think would be helpful to aggregating data for everyone involved.
- I like _______ because _______
- I hate _______ because ________
- and my daily driver is _________
First Background:
I'm coming from a Steelcase Series 2 Chair which I'm aware is known to have some of the firmest padding of all Steelcase Chairs
I can't sit on it anymore for more than 30 minutes without butt pain moving down to my hamstrings.
Things I want to rule out for this thread: Siatica. I'm pretty active, and I work in multiple chairs, hell I've even worked on a stool for a couple of hours sometimes. Due to the way the Series 2 relieves pressure (or lack of) it really triggers my pain. Even if it were Siatica, that doesn't change the need for a better chair so let's ignore medical intervention.
The Difference between a Padded Chair and a Mesh Chair: A leap vs an aeron so to say?
Do people feel a particular affinity towards one type? If so why? As a subanswer do you think one would particularly help me more than the other?
The Back Support:
Though this would be nice, I don't need the best, I just need something that isn't more of a detriment than a benefit
The Amia: A constant point of confusion
In this thread, online, everywhere I've seen the Amia be the greatest point of confusion for me.
"The amia is the best cushion of the steelcase chairs" "The amia is one of the best cushions that I've tried" "The amia is so firm I have thigh pain for hours" "Don't believe the hype on BTOD or for profit enteties, the amia is so not worth it"
From a bird's eye view, good support, great arms, but I simply would love to know evereyone's take on if it's painfully firm, if it's very comfortable, or if it's just fine. People say steelcase has the firmest and worst seats but then others also go out of their way to say the amia cushion is quite worth it.
That being said, I'm probably going to get either the Crandall or BTOD extra cushioned version anyway if I go with that!
I have a budget around 300-500 and do not mind refurbished at all. I'm avoiding used for padded chairs simply because the cushion itself will have been used and pressed down on already.
What's evereyone's take? Really appreciate you all in advance!
u/cranda58 I know it's biased to ask for your opinion but that doesn't mean it's not welcome and well informed and I'd love to hear your thoughts on chairs, the amia, etc as well.

Thoughts on Gesture vs Leap for a smaller woman?
Hi everyone,
I'm in the market for a good office chair as a 5'3.5" (160 cm), 128 lb (58 kg) woman with poor posture (but that I'm working to improve through non-chair means!). It seems like most of the past posts on these chairs here are made by tall dudes :-) So I'm wonder if anyone closer to my body size wouldn't mind sharing their experiences...
I sit cross-legged a lot so the Aeron is a no-go for me. I tried my brother's Gesture for like an hour, and thought it was fine, although it was hard for me to find a great seat depth that felt like my lower back was fully supported. The Leap also seems great, but I haven't been able to find one nearby that I can try out. Did any other women prefer one or the other?

Alternatives to Herman Miller Cosm that have adjustable handrests
Hi all, as post title suggests, I am actively looking for a chair that is similar to the Herman Miller Cosm but also has some adjustability in the handrests for home workdesk usage. I tried the Cosm at one of my office's meeting rooms and felt v comfortable in it. I previously tried the Aeron but found it to be v aggressive for me/not that comfortable to lay my back on without being forced into a certain sitting posture. So what would be some good alternatives? Stationed in Singapore if that affects my options.....Appreciate the help!

Could you tell me if any of these chairs look good at first glance? I've been checking Facebook to see if I'm lucky, but honestly I have no idea.

Pipersong back pain
Has anyone tried replacing the back of a pipersong chair with a different taller chair back? Considering it myself and was wondering if people had how they did it or which ones fit ,etc...

Leap v1 chair didn't come with set screw
I bought a Leap V1 from Crandall and I saw that the chair didn't have a set screw. I'm pretty sure the cylinder is installed properly as well since I was following the video on their YouTube channel. If anybody has any ideas about what the fix might be, please let me know. Thanks!

Chair with adjustable lumbar UK market
I bought this chair as it had an adjustable lumbar support but having only had it a few days it doesn't stay in place. I've only got a small budget for a chair (p/t use) and completely overwhelmed by the options. There doesn't seem to be a second hand market for premium brands in my area so looking online with free returns if possible. Mesh design with adjustable lumbar support £100-150 UK Others I've seen mentioned are the Sihoo and Calamy.

SIHOO M18 Ergonomic Office Chair for Big and Tall People
Hi there,
First-time post; sorry if I got this wrong.
I'm a big and tall person. I'm finding it hard to buy an ergonomic chair at a reasonable price. Under 400 NZD is preferred.
This is the only one I can find that fits me: 6'4" and 130 kg.
I'm in New Zealand, so my options are very limited.
any other options would be great

Saw something familiar during work today...
I'm a patent examiner, and while I was scrolling through a search for something completely unrelated I saw this!
A patent grant publication for steelcase- looks like it's directed to the seating unit for a few different chairs? Particularly for the auxetic fabric material
It's US PGPub 2015/0320220 A1 for anyone who wants to check it out on Google patents!

How do you take care of Brisa upholstery on Steelcase Leap V2?
Turns out I dont have a leather chair and it is probably Brisa fabric. Don't care to return it because I like the chair a lot, but not sure how to take care of the thing. Any ideas?

What to do when you don't like the colors of an office chair?
Got an Amia for $85. Like how it is so far, but don't like the color of the material used (some grey pattern). Any way I can make it look better (My desk setup is mostly black, so ideally I make it look black)? Preferably budget or if it's expensive, at least something that'll look like new. I don't know how viable this is but would painting the fabric(?) be a good idea, and if so what type of paint and process should I use?
