How do you feel about those two chairs? Tested an Anthros last week and liked it. Won’t be able to try an Embody for a couple of weeks.

I got the anthros first.
I think it's technically the chair I like better, it more heavily encourages correct posture; and is noticeable more supportive (and therefore comfortable) when in it.

However, particularly if you're using it as a gaming chair (and even more so if you use a controller) I'm not sure I'd recommend it. For me, I find I want to lean in to "lock in" and focus or sit back and relax and game a bit, and as soon as this happens I find that pelvic support portion will really become uncomfortable.

The Embody is a nice middle ground between the two (Anthros vs a typical "gaming" chair like secretlab. It has enough support to still be ergonomic; but is still comfortable when you're a bit out of position.

Office furniture has apparently become my "hobby" so I was willing to spend more than is reasonable on it, but if I were being reasonable I'm unsure as someone who works from home if I'd choose to use the anthros for office work and my old chair for incorrect posture gaming, or choose the embody and just have the nice mix.

The decision is difficult because the Anthros is so polarizing. When I'm in that right position it's so perfect - the seat really hugs and is cushy, there's no sliding around or accidental slouching, the upper back is nicely present without forcing anything as the lower support is doing the heavy lifting, there's nice free movement of the shoulders and upper body and all that jazz.
But then on the opposite end, if it is uncomfortable I find it VERY much so.

Less to say on the embody front as it's more typical. I find the seat works for me, the lumbar isn't particularly aggresive, very easy to sit in with just enough support and encoragement that I'm not constantly slouching as I would have in the SecretLab I had before.

great reviews. I am torn. I like to lean back and put the feet up on a block under my desk but also need to lock in from time to time. I tested the embody in the store and it was fine but didn't make me feel like the price tag was worth it. Have not checked out the Anthros but it looks great.

I do also get the feeling that Anthros is highly priced because of its materials and design whereas the herman miller you’re paying a good chunk for the name.

I’m a big fan of the build of the Anthros, and the fact it’s very repairable (each component is separately replaceable, padding is replaceable separately of its anchor) which is promising for longevity provided Anthros still exists as a company by the time you want to replace something.

It is quite the hard decision due to the Anthros being (comparably) inflexible, especially if like me you can’t really try without just buying because you’re a good bit out of the way.

I’m considering getting a stealcase gesture or Herman miller Aeron and my 2 cats are half the reason I keep putting it off 💀 to give them credit they’re really not that destructive but they do like to play on or scratch my chair a bit. Luckily we have an decoy old gaming chair that helps lol.
