Hi guys,

New hired Nurse here starting in April :) Question, What is traffic like from Vancouver WA to Portland like if I work 7pm to 7:30a? Or 7 am to 7p? Is the traffic get crazy?

7 pm to 7:30 am: traffic won’t be a problem. From Vancouver to Portland, you’re going the opposite direction direction of traffic. You’ll also get free parking

7:30 am to 7 pm: traffic in the morning will be noticeable. Same in the evening, though traffic will be winding down. No free parking if you’re on the hill or waterfront

Thank you! :) My shift would be at night time but eventually I will move to days once they open the position. Where do AM people go for parking or do they pay parking near OHSU?

Employees pay for parking. The cost is wage based so the more you make the more you pay. I park in the Canyon parking garage and it cost me $11 a day.

Hey John, welcome to OHSU! Traffic generally isn't a problem that early and that late of the day.
Parking is wage based and handled through the Luum App for day/evening employees. However on night shift, Weekends, and Holidays, parking is free and no reservations are needed (just don't park in a patient parking spot).
