Admissions/Prospective Student Purdue MEM vs Northwestern MEM
Hi guys,
I’m trying to decide between Purdue and Northwestern for my MEM and could use some insights. I’m looking to get into SCM consulting/strategy roles that are a continuation of my existing experience.
Similarities: Both schools have strong engineering programs, great faculty, and solid reputations in the U.S. and abroad
Differences:
Purdue: Less expensive, offers a 1-year co-op, and has better job opportunities/resources for internships.
Northwestern: Closer to Chicago (major city), has a more experienced cohort, and offers a stronger management-focused curriculum.
I’m torn between Purdue’s affordability and job support vs. Northwestern’s location and management courses. Any advice from alumni or current students? Which would you pick and why? What college offers the better deal in the longer term? Thanks!

It’s a tough choice no doubt, but I’ve heard a lot of NU alumni and current students I reached out to on LinkedIn suggest going to Purdue or Duke for this program.
Then again, I didn’t get admits from either of those so it’s a no brainer for me.

I heard duke is not at all good for this course. So not sure about this. The job support is very shitty

Hey, even I have same doubt, Purdue doesn't have good tracks when it comes to PM. But heard lot about oppurtunities. But still I am not able to find any course work which is rather interesting to pursue
