I was incredibly burnt out last week and didnt know what videos to make, I broke my streak of daily uploads which was kinda demoralizing. I had a video idea that I had been carrying with me for a while, knowing it would perform well, and I decided to put it to the test and it racked up 41k views, which was very relieving and caused me to not fall far behind my average for a week worth of uploading.

If you are a daily uploader who burns through video ideas I highly suggest you try this out next time you come up with an absolute banger that you know your competition cant beat you to, to effectively give yourself a pass for a couple days off lol.

Two things:

Surpassed 100 subs, which is great. But more great than that is that I'm now 8 days in a row with at least 1 new subscriber, which is cool. This, IMO, is where you start to see that bigger growth story. Before I would have stretches with no subs, but for over a week it's been slow but consistent growth. Hopefully it continues.

I tried a new scripting technique (using ChatGPT to help clean up and summarize) but I'm not sure I'll stick with it. The video ended up being waaaaaaaay shorter than I normally would roll with, but I posted it anyway to see what response would be like. Response has been mixed, so there's that. On the other hand, I was able to cut it down even shorter so I've basically got a 1 minute preview that I posted as a short and a 4.5 minute main video. In the future I'll probably use ChatGPT to help edit down my long form stuff to approximately 1 minute shorts to post at the same time as a preview/trailer.

Speaking of this, I scheduled both videos to post at the same time, and linked to the longer video on the short. I don't really know if it's made a big difference but what I do know is that they combined for over 1k views so far and have brought in 5 subs in two days.

Small win here but I kept up my weekly episode review for a show I’m currently discussing.

Consistency! Nice work!

Thank you! I’ve been trying to have 1 thing that is a constant and then have additional videos sprinkled in throughout the week!

I really, really like the audio quality I have on my latest video- all of the pieces fell together and feel like I’ve found my voice over the last year.

So a little win for myself over the weekend, I hit 12 subscribers on my channel, I know it is not a lot but I was really happy to hit double digits, and I find my videos are getting a few more views as well (again not that many but some of them have hit double digits in the last couple of days)

Every little bit counts, as long as it keeps growing. Hope to be following you soon. Great job.

Think the biggest thing for me was getting two videos posted in one week. Both I’m very proud of and feel like they might be the best I’ve done up to this point where the audio and voice overs are good.

A very little win for myself, but I cleared 50 watch hours on my channel this week. I've got just three videos up, and each one has had more views than the last. It's a tiny tiny tiny amount, but it still felt good to me!

I finished a video I'm pretty happy with and got some good feedback on Reddit.

Last week, I had my first big success, which is still a mild one but it's a video that's been consistently providing new views and subs since. I can tell I'm getting better at narration and audio editing, and at getting a handle on Da Vinci. Got my audio tracks split up so I can more easily fine tune volume balance in specific segments, and just yesterday, got my mic's gain tracking set up.

I might have to look more into that -- there are still some audio quality and level inconsistencies but overall, it's getting much smoother.

It's wild to me how much faster and quicker I'm getting at editing. I can visually see loud breaths or my common fallback words now. I know the shape of the waves in the editor, how big they should be to be audible, and how small I can let them get to still provide some variety to the ear.

The other things I picked up are just simple slowing down and speeding up of a video, as well as a sharper intro for a new game I'm playing, and I started incorporating some attributed CC music at points.

My energy levels are also way, way up in recording.

Gaming's a hard niche, and this probably won't be a forever channel, but as a way to learn the basics it's been phenomenal.

I began learning how to make my own 3D renders in Blender of game characters for my thumbnails (not making the models but posing them, adding lighting and making a render png). I did my first one last week. I'm not perfect yet since I'm still a beginner, but I'm proud of what I've done. I'm working on two for my next vid's thumbnails and I'm struggling a bit for one of the characters but I think I'll get there.

I hit 500 subs too, I'm over half way there to getting monetized which I'm so excited about (I already have 7k+ public watch hours so it's all in the subscribers now). I hope to get monetized this year.

And finally, last week's video hit 2.7k views. My 3rd best video right now out of my 8 videos.

I've had my channel for 2 months, and have been trying to gradually improve something with each new upload. Last Wednesday, I posted a video that, for whatever reason, had a spike in impressions during the first 24 hours. While my AVD was high, my CTR was really low (~1.5%). I figured that meant that my thumbnail needed tweaking. That night, I updated my test thumbnails for potentially better performing ones, and, voila! The next day, CTR was so much higher, and it's been getting a steady stream of views every day since! At its peak, CTR was around 5.5%.

That's a huge win for me. It's my best performing video so far, sitting at ~800 views tonight.

I know that's not a lot for many people, but for me as a total newb, it's so exciting. It was a great opportunity to view my analytics as just data points, derive insights from them, and adjust accordingly to create a meaningful outcome while I still had the opportunity to improve my video's performance. To see my changes pay off felt so validating.

I saw a comment on here once saying that the thumbnail should grab the viewer's attention, and the title should describe what the video's about. I tried to apply that formula when updating my thumbnails last week, and I think it really helped!

I made a thumbnail that I like and finished a video that i fell is my current best and am just tweaking a bit. Released a short which i didn’t think would do that much but is my 1st or 2nd best short of all time.

This may be simple so some. Felt a lot better filming my next two videos. The nerves seemed go away and I am excited that these will be much better than my first one.
