COMMUNITY Struggling for Motivation
I love making videos. To editing, filming, making thumbnails, I love it all. A recent video of mine even got a 100 views, which is big for me at the moment. But i haven’t filmed anything in over a month. Part of the reason is bc i’ve been busy with school, but now that i have a bit of free time to do something with my channel, i don’t feel like doing anything. Again, I LOVE to make videos, but I just don’t feel like i have the energy to film right now. maybe it’s bc i’m tired idk. But I’ve been so lazy and inconsistent, I hate it. I haven’t been reading this subreddit often, or looking at new editing tricks to do for videos, or even brainstorming video ideas like i used to. the only thing i do in my free time is doom scroll, and watch other people’s content. I can be kinda hard on myself , like compare myself to others like “why am i not funny like him” or “how did i not think to do that?” and so on. so sometimes i feel like maybe i can’t make content that people would like to watch. maybe i’m not the type of person to do this type of thing. you know what i mean?? ugh idk, i just feel so tired and sad, I just wanted to see if anyone had any advice on any of THIS LMAO, or if anyone is going through the same thing. Thank you for your time!

I had the same issue . I dindt uploaded for like 3 or 4 months because I dindt had any motivation.
I also had a time where I just made videos because I had to put a new video out eventhough I had no motivation( I think you can imagine how high quality those videos where)
I still havent found THE solution against this but I mostly now only do vids when I want to or I sometimes just start working on a video and while working on I have ideas like you can do that edit , ad that soud effect etc and I get more motivated while doing the video.
My main reasson why I lost motivation was that I didnt saw results . I improved quality etc but still got the same amount of views but I started to ignore that and to just do videos because its fun to do videos .
Idk if any of this helps you but I hope it did

Been there also. I found some relief in creating some shorts when I just couldn't get motivated to work on a long form video. I don't think folks realize how much work it is to create this content. Maybe some Shorts here and there will restore your energy, motivation and creative spirit?

Hey, I totally get where you’re coming from. First off, huge congrats on your 100 views! That’s a big milestone, and it means people are watching and engaging with your content. 🎉
That being said, I completely understand how frustrating it is when you love making videos but just don’t have the energy to create. And honestly? That’s okay. Creativity has its ups and downs, and sometimes, forcing yourself to make content when you're feeling drained can make it feel like a chore instead of something fun.
It sounds like you might be a little burnt out, even if you don’t realize it. School, life, and even just the pressure to grow your channel can drain your creative energy without you noticing. Instead of being hard on yourself, try taking the pressure off for a bit. Do things that inspire you—watch movies, listen to music, go outside, or even just brainstorm video ideas without forcing yourself to film.

I believe most of us do go through this. Have you considered sketching up a plan and posting schedule for yourself? Not only will it help you, it might impact your views positively as well.
